coz Hasbro doesn't want us to post pictures of these supposed "modern era figures"
they'll shot us down and ask us to remove the pix. and guess what they never existed in the first place. we were banking on a false hope. see what they ask me to do with my Tori Black avatar? too hawt for the internet! i think they prefer Taylor Swift or Lady Gaga or something.

I dont see how they would be canceled. Non of the figures rumored were in the pack and we didn't see any resolute figures. In the Toyfare magazinee they said they would keep us busy till atleast July when the Movie Figures would hit stores. There is the Artic Pack that was reported with Artic CC and Artic Scarlet and all the Resolute figures. I mean these have been reported from scews at stores so I dont see how they would be canceled.

You need to face it SE, they've been shelved. This site and others have said not to put too much weight in SKUs. Granted, TF did not push Reso stuff, but W14 is NOT coming out. Those Reso CPs still might be coming out. We're getting the two 7-packs. I am just thankful that we are not getting another Duke, SE, SS, or CC in those. 14 mostly unique figures.....and ZAP. Also, everyone should keep in mind that the line still needs life post movie....who is to say that some of these concepts and characters won't be seen late this year or a year from now. Who knows....but I do know, that W13 is the last of the modern era singles you will see in '09. Don't let it get you down though....it looks to be an exciting year to come!
Well unless we see or hear something later today on the modern era toys i'd say they were droped.I used to work for Hasbro a few years back. When the online retailers droped pre orders for vehicles wave 2 2009 I knew it was not a good thing. I'll bet the large retailers such as WAl Mart wanted the modern era line droped in favor of selling movie toys early. You say the line needs post movie life. Trust me one more wave of vehicles and 2 more waves of singles would not have taken away the post movie life of the line. The movie toys may look exciting to you and thats great but the majority of it looks craptastic to me. Look close at that moto viper that comes with that cobra movie hummer. You can see that it was intended to be a moter viper that would have most likely came with a modern era stun. They have the mold for it remember the club exclusive dreadnok stun. I think Hasbro should at least offer us an outlet for some classic stuff during the movie line. I don't care if its Store exclusives or online exclusives but they should offer hard core classic joe fans a few new items during mid to late 2009. So, (and correct me if I'm wrong, please) if I understand this right, those new 7-packs with Outback, Alley Viper, etc. are the only new ARAH/"Modern Era" figures we can expect to get in 2009?
Are those going to be internet exclusives or will we see them in stores? If that's true, I'm PISSED! After looking at all the ROC stuff, I was a little let down. Just hope they don't scrap all the old Joes and replace them with this movie crap! Not that I'm a movie hater, but I just don't want that to be the ONLY version of GI JOE we get from now on! |
