I just saw the movie and the 'Nano-mite' wars is referring to the ROC movie. They use it in a past tense verbage. President Zartan says something to the effect of making it through the nano-mite wars.
I thought ROC was better then Joe 2. |

I thought the decision to use the term "nanomite wars" was a rather inspired decision.
It also jives with the "requel" route the production crew took with this film. Like the 2008 Incredible Hulk, it acknowledges that events similar to the prior film DID occur, but reframes them in a way to better present the "world" the second film was pushing for. To me, it was almost like Chu and co were trying to sell the "idea" of RoC (in a sense, the events of RoC Hasbro's toyline tried to sell, not necessarily the movie itself) more than the idea of the film as a direct sequel (again, like how Incredible Hulk started the film with Banner in South America, a hook leftover from the first film). And the use of "wars" implied a far greater conflict than was presented, which I think was another lost toy opportunity for Hasbro (though, I'm not sure anyone was really pining to see some of the old RoC stuff rehashed)

I feel like we may see a nano mite wars figure line or cartoon in the future.

I agree that Nano Wars = Rise of Cobra. They couldn't very well refer to it as "the rise of Cobra" could they? The Nano Wars were simply the battles in Paris, the North Pole, and in the air over Moscow and Washington D.C. Those were the only four weaponized warheads. Once they were taken out, the Nano Wars were over.

Nanomite Wars sounds alot like the Clone Wars. Hasbro could easily produce a series based on this interim period.

That's what I think.
I don't feel like the RoC is the NMWars, its just to catchy to be a weak sauce throwaway. |

I liked the mention of "nano-mite wars". Made me imagine all the neat stuff that could have happened with these characters between the first and second movie

I'm in the, 'sounds like a new cartoon' camp. Ala clone wars.
You could have a cartoon with pretty much everybody going that route, too.

I think Hasbro kinda did this already, back in 2010, there were these short CGI episodes that were released online set right after ROC by continuing on as POC with games to play online too featuring all the environments; Arctic, City, Desert. I remember these were posted on the Hisstank news somewhere. I think it got abandoned afterwards.
