What do they usually have there? If I can secure the day off I'm thinking of going. It's about a 2 1/2 hour drive but I won't have anything like that where I live at. Is it mostly vintage stuff?

Well, I don't know about the sacramento GI JOE show, but I have have been to two of the Toy fusion parking lot sales and those are pretty cool. Got allot of good fodder and there was a vendor selling loose, complete vintage figures for $10. lots of non-joe stuff there too.

I've been to this show off and on for the past several years.
I don't know, it's a bit of hit and miss. It really depends on who shows up. If you are really lucky, sometimes someone just looking to dump a ton of stuff gets a table and you find quite a bit of arcane stuff. Otherwise it's really the same guys moving the same stuff just in six month intervals. Well to my observation. |

Are there any decent year-round retailers in the Sac area worth checking out?? I visit there about once per month.

I haven't been up there in a while, but I'd say no, nothing I can remember being memorable in terms of brick and mortar or LCS.
In SoCal, Weekend of Heroes used to run every June, and it had a good mix of 1/6th and 4 inch scale but they killed that show recently for lack of interest. What I find is super helpful is to get the cards/emails/numbers of dealers/booth runners when you do go to shows. Most have stuff they didn't bring and are looking to sell stuff all year long. Also if you meet random people at the Sac show, you can talk a little and get numbers/emails and often make contacts for trades or buys or information, etc. I've met a lot of people that way who have helped me over the years find some pretty hard to find stuff. Just some thoughts here. |
