With all do respect sir, as.much as I love g.I. Joe...I would Definitly not go to such extremes.I flat out refuse to be that guy..the guy one snickers at that's dressed in costume at a convention. To each is own, and I respect what you want to do. However, id prefer a type of party where female attire is frowned upon

I thought this was going to be a party for your kid.
For adults? I'm a big fan, but that might be pushing it.

I would go as Dr. Mindbender!
Okay, fine. A Dr. Mindbender who hasn't shaved his chest or back in a while and has let himself go since 1986... EDIT: Those guys are harsh, man! I'm no cosplay guy by any means, but don't let those ^^^ guys dissuade you. If you and your friends like doing themed costume parties - do it! F**k what anyone else thinks. Yeah, I probably wouldn't have one. Most of the people I know wouldn't really be into it. If I did dress up, I'd save it for a convention, and that might be stretching it for me a little.

I'd go a more off the wall route. Either a Fatal Fluffy, a melty synthoid, or Boy George Snake Eyes

Sir, if there weren't big nerdy freaks like you in this world it would be very boring...you should do it, have a blast, and enjoy your self. awesome amount of security that you have that many don't!

Has anyone had one before? My wife wants to have a Dr. Who theme party, and I'm going to a Firefly (Joss Whedon series) theme birthday party this weekend. It got me thinking that I'd like to throw a GI Joe theme party since most of my friends are 30-somethings who grew up watching the cartoon. Has anyone done this before? I'd like to go as Firefly, and since my wife has long red hair, she could go as Scarlett.
Anyway, thought it'd be a cool thing to do. If nothing else, what would you guys go as if you went to one? No different than dressing up in team tshirts for a Super Bowl party. You were excited and looking forward to doing something around something you obviously have a passion for, until some people rained on your parade. do it. and post pics on the tank when you do!
