'91 for the vehicles and '93 for the figs were when I really started to believe that things were getting lame. The neon colours were (and still are) a real turn off to what are otherwise some underrated molds. I would say that I was getting consistently disappointed during these times. Maybe if Transformers hadn't gotten lame first, I would have noticed a lot quicker.

I gotta say i never really got tired of it or decided to quit buying. I stayed thru the line even with Sgt. Savage and GIJoe Extreme. I can say the only time i didnt buy gijoe was when it was only 12" in the stores. There were a couple of sub sets that i wasnt too thrilled about but i still bought them. Eco-Warriors was one of them. The Armor Tech line of figures were very disappointing due to the limit articulation on them. Also the Ninja Force Snake Eyes and Scarlett with their thunder thighs. But i still stuck with them and bought them anyways.

I only started collecting GI JOEs in 1990, so I was in till the end. I remember the Battle Corps figures were always at Peoples drugs. I remember really enjoying Fort America even.
The big vehicle playset for me was The General. I thought it was unreal and the play value of that toy was just great!

I'd have to say it was in the 90s, when they started making everything in neon colors.

Cobra-La
That said though I continued to buy and play with them all through out the line (Being a lot more selective thought) buying my last 2 items (The Ghost Striker X-16 and the Armorbot) at TRU in 94 after I was done with High School. I then Skipped Sgt Savage and (Ugh) Extreme and started up again when I saw the 97 stuff at TRU. After that I quit when Sigma 6 was all you could get and then restarted with DTC and 25th.

I collected starting in '82 with the OG 13 while I was in elementary. Loved the modern military look and extra articulation over my Star Wars figures.
Started to lose interest when all the reapaints started coming out - Tiger Force, Python Patrol, Night Force, etc. Always wanted the Defiant playset, but it was huge and I had no room after already having a Flagg and a Terror Drome. Then high school came and girls and being cool took priority. I started working part time, and would secretly buy select Joes and small vehicles. Some part of me never let go... I got back in with -surprisingly- the Sigma 6 line. Loved how the figures looked and the new take on some characters, like Firefly. Haven't looked back since the 25th line got me hooked all over again like it was 1982.
