I am getting more and more fustrated by big companies not willing to sell joes to the UK.
Sears.com offers international Shipping, so i search for GI Joes. This is the only help I get: Cassandra F: Thanks for choosing Sears.com International! May I have your name, please? You: Hi, I am trying to buy GI Joe toys on your site, but every time i search for them, i briefly see the search results before an error message pops up saying "Yikes! We're sorry, but that page is no longer available." which is ridiculous. You: Please help. Cassandra F: I apologize, but every country has different guidelines to determine which products should be restricted for export and/or import. For your convenience, we automatically limit the product selection that can be browsed and added to the shopping cart by the specified shipping country. As general examples, we are unable to ship certain brands, flammable, oversized or products heavier than 150 lbs (68 kgs). Elliot: Action Figures are not Highly flammable or heavy. This is Discriminating, Xenophobic and outrageous. No Reply at all. Absolutely fuming at this shit. I am trying to pay fort your products, why won't these retards understand???? |

The GI Joe brand potentially , and does, make toy firearms. Hasbro does not necessarily make toy firearms that meet the requirements of the UK's stringent toy firearms/weapons regulations. Since all employees of Sears inc are not familiar with the standards and practices of the USA, let alone foreign countries, I imagine Sears shies from shipping any military toy to the UK. To sears it probably doesn't matter whether it is 3 3/4 " size or blankety blank cm in length for role play.
I think your beef is with the UK's toy weapon practices...not Sears inc... I'm sure it's a legal area with sears and has nothing to do with them not wanting your money.

considering they sell other action figures of soldiers over here, like The Corps! and our own 10in HM Armed Forces figures, that strikes me as BS.
plus, I've bought plenty of ARAH figures from the US off eBay. |

I'm pretty sure a 'Tanker' here in the US could help you out.

Ebay sellers are not a corporate entity per se. But it was the only explanation I could think of to be honest. I imagine it has to do with legalities. My thinking was that they were lumping the entire brand of GI Joe off limits because of their role play weapons....

When I was in the UK a about 8 years ago I went to a toy store (I think it was called Hastings?) and they were selling Joes, stuff that was fairly current at the time like VvV era stuff. So I can't imagine why Sears won't sell to you.

Sears won't ship Star Wars toys to the UK either (unless you count a C3PO bobble head)- the bans and restrictions are pretty tight and they are just being cautious- I'm sure they would LOVE to take your money and ship you anything you want, but then they would run the risk of all sorts of legal issues and boycotts from concerned parent groups or whatever... Just looking over the international restrictions on shipping toy guns is a nightmare- easier to just say "NO!"

Seriously. Just make friends with someone. Hell, someone in Australia just has packages sent to one of our friend's house, and every so often he sends a big package to Australia.

Thanks guys,
I know, It just sucks we have to pay extortionate prices for the same goods you guys can get reasonably cheap and easily! In all seriousness though Ameri-JoeBros, if anyone would be kind enough to buy figs for me, and let me buy them off you at Retail prices (plus shipping obviously) I would be ever in your debt. On Evilbay, the new 3 packs are averaging at fucking £50 (78.59 USD) plus shipping. Thats nuts for three figures. Regards, Elliot |
