Not really... this rather common when you pre order an item online. They're not only checking to make sure your account is still active they also need to make sure the full amount is there. So a dollar check isn't going to really help...

I would care if the money didn't belong to them. I signed up for the FSS as a three payment event. I knew they were taken out 121.90. I was fine with it cause I wanted to spoil myself with club goodies and get the 13th figure. Than I took money out and noticed...I shouldn't have that much.....and it's the money which they were suppose to keep was redeposited. This isn't hey that's see this works this money was suppose to be gone and my package is suppose to come instead of informing me or responding to my email I'm left in the dark save for 9deadjoes.

Usually what happens with my bank is
1.) the merchant does a Pre authorization run of the number 2.) later they run the number again, actually taking out the amount they will keep. 3.) they then redeposit that first Pre authorized amount back into my account. The only reasons I can see them doing this are to either test to see if you have funds to pay, or to capture the amount before you add a tip, like at a restaurant. |

Like most have said, I doubt they actually charged you $121 and then credited it to you. They probably ran a hold for that amount to see if the money was there, and then they would run the actual transaction. Pretty common.
