Is there any doubt?
effin love this. puts me in a good mood every time. I love the part where Alpine solidifies his place in the GI Joe Hall of Fame.

Its an epic opening for sure! I know its far off but wouldn't a live action movie exactly like the original be rad? I think with graphics today it would destroy other movies if done right.

100% agree
I Glad you posted this The move that Snake Eyes does on that trouble bubble is so insane it almost makes up for his lack of appearances in the whole cartoon series |

While awesome, in retrospect it makes no sense whatsoever.
What exactly was Cobra's objective? Based on CC and his little bomb, it was to blow up the Statue of Liberty. So why risk sending your supreme commander to do that? And why launch a full on assault? Send in Firefly when it's not a huge celebration and get the job done. Hell, they have the giant flying fortress, just launch a few missiles from that. Also convenient is the entire joe team happening to be there waiting. They shoot lasers yet there are shell casings flying everywhere. The firebat, basically a cockpit strapped to a jet engine, has a windshield fragile enough it can be punched through. Yes, it's a great sequence, but its so illogical on so many levels. |

Funny, I was just thinking how awesome this was just yesterday! So many cool moments in it but my fav is when the CG punches the camera right at the beginning. It's rare to see a Cobra actually being bad ass.

The balloons rising, and Cobra descending, must have been daunting for the animators

I like it! Looks so much better than the new Renegades animation.
I don't know who it was at Hasbro that approved the character designs for Renegades but you don't fix something that isn't broken. The animation character designs as exemplified in the G.I.Joe Movie introduction is proof positive that the 80s animation style is far better. Bear in mind I am not complaining about Renegade's story. It was far better than the original 80s as far as I am concerned. For just one example off the top: in Renegades the major villains never laugh inexplicably like they do in the 80s cartoon! However, that being established, no one can argue the concrete fact that the G.I.Joe Movie introduction is one of the best animation sequences in the entire series. Hands down.

I think it's really the music that does it for me in this more than anything. Man it's awesome. Yo Joe!
