Hmmm, let's see; roadblock with a gimpy hand and no ankle articulation. Vehicle drivers with only 5 points of articulation; a bazillion different versions of the same 4 characters? That kinda makes the club product look better. I like the clubs product. I'm not crazy about their prices. I'm not crazy about hasbro's retaliation product or prices.

Subscribers can get a single to open, whereas non-subscribing members are limited to one.
Agree overall that selling the extras immediately seems to reduce to incentive to subscribe. Maybe they were worried that BBTS and others would eliminate the demand so that by the end nobody left wants the extras. |

Now for the reasonable folks, it really only makes sense to sell these pieces now, this way members who choose to cherry-pick or subscribers who only want extras of specific figures have the opportunity to get the items they want instead of the club having to deal with a growing stockpile for six months. I'm also willing to bet they went heavy on the production run of NanoBATs, they know us army builders have needs :-) |

You really don't get it. The club is making the figures Hasbro has said they have NO interest in doing, with out the club we can look forward to no retailer support while the retailers tell Hasbro to make endless pointless variations of a handful of characters. The club is the ONLY way we are going to see even a fraction of what we want. It is not the '80s any more, the hobby has advanced by thirty years, keep up or shut up.

I doubt that FSS2 will have as many extras as FSS1.
Look at it this way. It's advertising. It's allowing more of FSS1 to get out there so that more people are going to be willing to enroll in FSS2 upfront. The people that first subscribed to FSS1 get the 13th figure. That's their incentive. The people that were on the fence, now have a better shot at getting the figure, seeing the type of figure produced, getting their hands on one. And they'll be more likely to subscribe to FSS2 next year/end of this year. It's not shooting themselves in the foot, it's a sound marketing strategy.

I bet the 13th figure is some awesome figure that is related somehow to the Joecon set to complete that set. Like FSS 1 is an IG or OG, and the FSS 2 is NF. Just some thoughts.

How did I know this was Steelgrave without even looking at the name. Dude, you need a new hobby. Something that makes you happy. I'm under the impression that almost everything GI Joe makes you bitter and miserable.

What if the 13th figure is one of the Joes from the 2013 Con Set but in ARAH colors?

My interest is not from the point of view of exclusivity, but just having the figures in my collection. It's nice to take away the sniveling that will follow the end of FSS1 by those who objected up front and then complained of the cost and then begged for some to basically give them the figures for song. It's the whole entitlement mentality that makes some of this community berate others who have more than one Flagg or more than one 25th footloose.
I got mine, I want you to have yours. Just buy the figs if you want them.
