to assume that you are entitled to a cheaper price just because you are shopping on HISSTANK is a bit naive.

My rule of thumb when selling to fellow Tankers:
1. What I paid for the item, including tax + 2. Approximately what I spent to get to where the item was purchased (much less now than 6 months ago) + 3. What I paid for packaging and shipping + 4. A minimal finder's fee (time and effort) = Total Anything more than that is better served on ebay than the 'Tank. Well said.

The only reason things are hard to find is because scalpers buy everything up, so you do not have a choice but to pay extra. I think it should be illegal to re-sell a item purchased from a retail store!! If you re-sell retail at a higher price you are not a collector anymore, all you are doing is ruining it for everyone else. Good luck to all those true collectors that are just looking to have fun.

I never claimed that I deserve a "cheaper rate" because I am a tanker, I assumed that I would not have to pay "ebay prices" since I am not on ebay, I dont blame the guy for making the most amount he can, however I think if you dont want to pay for the fees to post on ebay, then you should expect not to get the prices listed on ebay. I hope that makes sense!

Its supply and demand. I dont really care If I ever get A clear Wrath, Yellow Stalker or a Black Timber. I I see one, cool, I may pick it up. What pisses me off is when someone who dosent care what it is, being a Joe or Transformer or ML, they just see the profit. I ran into a guy like that at TRU and bent the card on every MM Joker this ass was trying to hoard

I think someone has the ability to ask whatever price they want. But the person interested has ever right to call them out if they think it is set too high. That is what ebay is for.

Hard to answer this question, seeing as my local target just marked down most of thier clearance to 75%
Scored 3 Joe UBP @ $15.xx, numerous TF items- Legends 5pk @ 3.98, Animated exclusives @ 3.74, the 2 packs both movie and Universe were only 50% off @ 14.98 but still picked up some of those, Indy playsets @ 8.74 and the indy target 5pk were 4.98,DK Movie Master batpods @ 4.98, I even Scored 2 cases of TF Movie leader class Optimus Prime( regular) and Megatron @ 9.98 each. I swear this target that I hit did not put out any of the exclusives until after christmas. I spent right over $300 on all of the items above, it was 3 carts worth of stuff and I can easily triple what I paid when it all goes to ebay so in my case, I will scalp it all. |

Boba, at the end of the day, people can/will charge what they want for an item. It's just a fact of life.
My stance has always been this: Too pricey? Move along. Someone else will have it at a price closer to what you're looking to spend. Although we have a tight knit community here, it shouldn't come as a surprise that someone will ask the going price (well, the price they saw on eBay) for an item. That said though, this isn't eBay. If folks are looking to cash in, then post the aforementioned item on eBay and hope for the best. I don't have a clear Wraith either and desperately want one, but am not paying more than $20 for one. Yeah, pipe dream, I know, but that's just me. I don't knock people for trying to make a profit, I just take my business elsewhere. ;) 1. they should put it in the post so it does not waste ppls time 2. just know that the average price on ebay, does not reflect the average price on a website where you can post , sell and trade for free! |
