I see Toys R Us making some effort to restock for the holiday season, not sure about Target or K-mart (I never go to them) but Walmart hasn't done shit all year. Seems like they just gave up on toys. Only a few more days left til X-Mas & the Hasbro action figures are as empty as they have been all year.
I know GI Joe got pushed back but whats the deal with Star Wars, Marvel Universe, Avengers & Transformers??? They haven't restocked anything. They haven't restocked anything from McFarlane either. I saw the latest Halo 4 figures at TRU but nothing anywhere else Last edited by Steelgrave; 12-20-2012 at 11:47 AM.. |

I think theyre scared to order more considering that, like, half their stock from last year either ended up on the clearance isle or is still there.
Of course it doesnt help that most of the avengers, star wars and spiderman stuff looks almost exactly like figures kids have had for years too. Transformers is the mystery to me, but there again, how many bumblebees can the same household buy before they draw the line and tell timmy to play with the 9 he got from last year...

Back when the first movie came out I was bitching that all they kept pushing on us was Optimus & Bumblebee. Nobody was with me. I got pissed & totally quit collecting TF's. But now 3 movies later I see the comments from the TF fans & it looks like they finally caught up to me. I kept saying parents aren't going to buy the same character over & over & over again. But Hasbro & the stores were too damn stupid to figure it out. They just decided that they were going to push Bumblebee on us right from the start whether we wanted him or not.

Maybe your area just sucks. I've crossed the country and found many WMs stocking the newest TFs, MU 3packs, and Halo 4 Cortana wave figures along with WWE and other Mattel brands.

There are a number of factors that could have played into it. TRU has more dedicated warehouse space and might have been able to stock up via outside vendors whereas Walmart is limited in what it can stock and how it can be distributed.
Its also important to point out that Walmart has no GIJoe space dedicated to their toy department peg space at this time due to Retaliation being delayed. Same with Target

I have heard so many things about waldo's dealings, but here is what I have observed. The super or more metropolitian walmarts seem to have abandoned joes for the most part as of right now. While I have seen in the older walmarts (the stle they had 15 years ago) do have them. Like most places if you speak to a manager or department "head" they can order stuff for you. Now if they give you flack or the runaround, then that should clue you in that why would you want to do business with someone who does not care to meet your needs (desires)? I have seen a 8npack star wars deal for 25 bucks at some waldos, if you like those dolls. But as far as joes, I'd keep checking just in case, definalty your hole in the wall ones for sure. COBRA!

I don't know... Why would Walmart be considerd the gold standard of stocking unpopular kinds of kids entertainment?

Kinda like all the Snake Eyes, Dukes, Cobra Commanders, and Storm Shadows we get in the Joe line.
