Well for some reason my earlier post was deleted. ( it would have been cool o have a reason)
Anyway yes when I worked at TRU I would hold something until lunch or after work. However you needed manager approval first. And yes I checked before I held anything. Also I use to take customer names and numbers if we didn't have something in stock. When I unloaded the truck if it was there I would call them. So I always thought it was cool when you helped a kid get something he wanted. |

It ain't much, especially in the Boston area (where I was at the time). Employees get discounts. Employees are expected to use that discount to purchase stuff, otherwise they wouldn't have it. Are employees only supposed to purchase stuff that you don't want? And how many people here have a relationship with an "insider" in a TRU or Wal-Mart? I wish I did. Are those of you complaining honestly suggesting that if you worked a toy dept or store, you wouldn't purchase something before it hit the floor because you wanted to make sure some other collector had dibs? You wouldn't hook your friends up? Sorry, I just don't buy it.

I have been calling a local Wal-Mart at opening time the past couple days asking if they have put any Joes out. I was told no,but to check back again. I call today and still no Gi Joes. The guy puts me on hold and when he returns says he has no future shipments and that its been deleted. He even said that seems weird because he can't keep them on the shelf. I wonder if he's thinking i am a scalper or something?

honestly i really have no quabbles about getting them off of ebay well maybe when they want like 25.00 a figure but i have gotten my 25ths from stores and from ebay and currently by trading. firing over putting something away for yourself? no that is just not in reality a good idea. everyone does i know i did while working retail. yes scalping is a problem but we have brought it on ourselves by paying outrageous prices for things that really don't demand such a price but make quick bucks for others. and basically all of these "they are wrong for doing this" discussions are jsut collectors either frustrated or just annoyed that they cannot get what they want right when they want it. and last but not least i think compulsivecollector hit the nail on the head with his comments

HEY Compulsive Collector, you're one the guys I was talking about with the screw the other guy mentality. If you didn't get so defensive, and actually read what people wrote on here you would see that I clearly stated I have purchased most of mine from Ebay. You're the same CC on Ebay who has 5 Cobra Soldiers for $100 aren't you. It's guys like you that make collecting harder for the rest of us. And no I don't have to pay you're bills, and you have the right to buy as many figures as you want. The point I was trying to get across was proven by your immature comment about going out and buying more troopers. Thank you so much for making a cool hobby a headache.

I've also hooked up other collectors on this site with Cobra Troopers and a yellow Stalker for cost plus shipping. How many times have you done that on this site? Oh, that's right... ZERO. Please. Quote:

LOL... You are really just arguing my case for me. I'm done with topic of scalping, or stashing figures. You really paid that much for a figure, dumbass!!! One last comment here, and you are more than welcome to quote me on it. "Arguing on the internet is like being in the special olympics, even if you win you're still retarded". Oh by the way if anyone want to help his cause here is the item # 170179110069, he has bill to pay for crying out loud.
