Yes, I am pleased. There have a few missteps, but i am just glad to see as much of this product out. I wish there were not quite so many repaints, but if that is what we have to have to keep this line going, I'm Ok with it.

The only complaint, beyond some key characters that have yet to be released, would be availability.
Hopefully, 2009 will bring a cure to this problem with the release of the movie.

Absolutely, I am! i think the number of figures released over the past two years is outstanding, not to mention the quality. sure, there are quite a few repaints and duplicate figures (CC, Duke, SS, SE.. i am looking in your direction), some missing "must-haves", and some "not-quite-what-we-were-hoping-for" figures... but overall, i think it's been fantastic. i am not optimistic for the future, though, as i don't think i'll have any interest in the movie line.

I am extremely happy with the effort so far. I think they underestimated the response from the number of fans of ARAH and played a little "catch up" as 2008 began but boy did they finish well with the ton of stuff we got bombarded with in the weeks building up to the holidays. Yes, the repaints are over the top (and now with the vehicles with TF Tiger Rat and Conquest) and some figures have still not hit retail in some areas, but if this year pans out with the movie we might be hitting another golden era for G.I. Joe (that's me being optimistic).
It's funny...I remember collecting all the Hasbro Star Wars stuff back in the early '80s and dropped it all after Return of the Jedi for a new line of toys that caught my eye...G.I. Joe ARAH. 25 years later, I stopped collecting all the Star Wars stuff after Episode 3 and picked up with an old friend...G.I. Joe. There are so many memories tied to these toys...I guess it is why they are such a hit with older fans and collectors.

Satisfied yes.. but there is room for MUCH improvement. Especially in articulation, paint apps etc.

I've been "collecting" Joes [as opposed to "playing with" as a kid] since those 1997 TRU repaints came out. And I think 08 probably been the best year for GI Joe since the 80's. It's amazing the turn around the lines done compared to few years ago after even DTC petered out and we pretty much literally had next to nothing. Well "nothing" for me anyways cause i hated sigma six...
After the 3 3/4 had totally been getting the shaft, and Gi Joe in general had always been the redheaded step child of hasbro at the time, compared to star wars and transformers. The amazing thing has been how the 25th Ann. was just supposed to be those 2 5 packs initially and how succesful the 25th line became. to us nearly having all the 82-85 line up and then some at this point. I know it's not hasbro's best selling line, but for being a collector line, it's done really well. I think i'd rate it as the best line of 2008. It's just changed my perspective on stuff as well, I mean all the stuff we got pre-25th seemed like a couple of left over scraps, but post 25th it's been like thanksgiving meals every day. As for the future for me 08 will be tough to top, because 09 will focus on the movie which i have no intrest in. I know the movies bring the "brand" to a new level and bring in more money and traffic. But in general i just think most "live action" things make boring toys. The only "live action" figures i collect are star wars. The only movie stuff i'll care about is stuff i think would work good with my classic based collection.
