I was just wondering if Tankers are going to spend more or less money in 2009 then they did in 2008. I know I am going to slow down collecting, I spent too much money by.
1) Buying figures I couldn't find in the store online for 15.00 to 20.00 apiece just to find them at retail later. ( Patience from now on) 2) Troop building, especially vehicles! ( above applies, I bought 10 crimson guard on ebay for over 100.00 only to have them come out on comic cards at 4.99 at Target later!) 3) Buying cases online ( all the extra vehicles and figures add up!) 4) Being selective, I have everything that has come out so far except the TRU Crimson Guard Pack. This is the set that got me thinking I might not buy everything!!) Don't think I am going to buy stuff like the deep six or gung ho comic packs. |

Much less...for sure. I'm as caught up as I care to be and will be more and more selective as the line continues.

True. I may budget but I only get what I want. I bought a few vehicles. But only wanting to troop build in small amounts not like some that buy 50-100 of each Cobra trooper. My Patience is what limits me yes I would like to buy online but if I wait I find what I'm looking for. Right now I'm hurting on the last Waves but patience.

I'm going to wait and see is out. I'll be going to JoeCon, so if that counts as part of my budget, then I will spend more in 2009.
I may be a little more selective, instead of buying 25 BATS and 30 Troopers. Getting married, so gotta have money for the wife!!!!!

Well 2009 will be nothing like 2008 because Hasbro is shifting to the Resolute and movie lines. This means some of us won't have nearly as much to buy as we did in 2008. So my guess/prediction is that many will reduce their Joe spending next year. I'm also predicting that the "classic/nostalgic" figure(s) from each wave will be the rare, only to be found on EBay items from each wave while the Resolute and movie figures clog shelves everywhere.

I'm going buy all the single card Joe waves and a few more vehicles. I also collect Star Wars and Transformers which means I'll be dropping a load on the 40+ Clone Wars figures coming out not to mention all the new Transfomers Animated and Movie figures I'm gonna buy. Oh yeah, and I have to pay for medical school and food. Yay 2009, I'll be selling my blood and platelets by March.

I find it hard to believe Hasbro can provide us as much product we all feel we absolutely need 2009. I believe they wisely milked us in the down year before the Joe and Transformers movies. I think the amount of stuff 80's collecters want will drop significantly this year and pick up slightly in 2010.

less cases.....tired of CC building up then again the internet revision cases have been nice. will definitely trim down Star Wars in a major way to save dough for Joes. I just know this year will be expensive with Target Exclusives, Sideshow, remaining 25th, and movie lines

I'm going to buy less. . . as a matter of fact, I'm almost "done", meaning that out of everything that's been produced to date, I have almost all that I want. I did spend a little too much off of the internet (and evilBay), but no more of that for me. I have not been impressed with the first looks at the movie figures, which is fine, because that's less I'll buy. I have almost all the fodder I need for the customs I'm making. So I'm looking to spend quite a bit less in 2009.
