Well, i get that the retailer has to actually ORDER the case for figures to be on shelves, but it seems like someone needs to be screamed at over making sure that empty shelves, especially joe shelves, GET RESTOCKED. I dunno who's fault that is, but, my god, man, when a case of figures disappears over night, it seems like it would make good sense to get more.
I see empty joe spaces more often than i do joes and its been like that since roc. Beyond that the transformers prime Optimus looks like crap and theres 15 bumblebees on the pegs for every 1 character thats not bumblebee. Even if parents arent sick of buying their kid bumblbee a couple times a year, its not like theyre getting more than one of the same kind on purpose.

You know...when I can't find any new Transformers in ANY of my stores for well over 4-5 months, and also couldn't find any new G.I.Joe figures in stores (prior to Retaliation) - and then I see stories like this? I'm just sitting here shaking my head and thinking "No fucking shit, Sherlock!".

No stock in stores = No sales = Decreased profit! As a collector I am not interested in dying brands or brands that outcome seem murky.

Star Wars, Transformers, Marvel and everything else except for Legos. The Lego section is always getting restocked every three or four days. And the lego section looks like the 1980's, one entire side from end cap to end cap. Nothing but Lego sets at the local Wal-Mart. Last edited by Trigue; 10-24-2012 at 08:31 PM.. |

I think it's still funny that they focus on movie figures, when a lot of the time the movie figures suck ass compared to what they could be. For example: The Amazing SpiderMan, Transformers, Star Trek and Tron. These could of easily been awesome figures. Not sure if retail will ever get it right.

It's seems simple from the outside looking in; but I doubt we really know what in the heck is the real story behind Hasbro screwing up their own properties year after year...
Joes are a HASBRO property. Its a win-win situation that I can't understand why they aren't capitalizing off of it. Hire more staff to handle the different Joe brands properly. the same group responsible for a cartoon shouldn't be pulled off for a film nor should the design/sculpting/toy brand group be torn in different directions every damn year when someone decides to do a re-branding to keep the line alive. We not hire more people? Make one generic Joe toy brand, with generic card art? 30th Anniversary had classic and Renegades toys under it and it did damn well, why stare a healthy horse in the mouth and find something to fix?!?!? Where's the logic in the business model that has been successful over 30 years to consistently flip-flop?!?! Its non-sense.... As for core characters? Well now they're realizing it makes sense to expand the list of characters after the last six years of re-emergence of Star Wars, Transformers, Marvel and Joe has made every version imaginable of the top five popular characters necessary for anyone's collection. People aren't going to buy the same thing over and over again with shrinking disposable income and rising prices.
