We've all had them: figures that die for one reason or another. The elastic snapped on the old '80s figures, your dog chewed it to pieces, etc.
When I was like 6, my brother got super mad at me one day and flushed all of the arms from my beloved '86 B.A.T. down the toilet, and then twisted the upper torso until the elastic broke. What horrible deaths have your figures experienced? |

My brother threw a bunch of my toys out the window when one of his bad influence friends was over. Tan Grunt wasn't recovered until years later. He was a little worse for wear and sporting a long and scraggly beard when I found him

aside from going missing when I was a kid none thankfully.......my Da always repaired the O ring casualties so I was ok.but yeah sopme of my best loved Joes went for a "walk" when I was younger.
dont think I ever had Joes break terminally any other way than O-Rings.....which is an easy fix really. |

Only dog related casualty was Sonic Road Pig. Tomax went MIA and Xamot is still around. One of his legs is held together by a strip of black tape. Alot of my vintage stuff suffered broken thumbs, crotches, O-Rings, Arms and other parts. My SB Armour Duke and Rock&Roll Suffered snapped arms at the elbows. Man, my male cousins and I were brutal on our Joes.

As one of my childhood friends commented on a post I made on FB showing a picture of old beat up Joes...I said I lost a few in Brandons backyard...Brandon responded "You step on holly ground when you walk in my moms back yard." That pretty much summed it up...Our Joes went to War some came back...some never did...YO JOE!

1st casualty....vintage major bludd...his t hook broke...i was literally in tears till my "mechanical whiz" dad came home and saw the damage.the next day he designed some t hooks out of brass wire of the same thickness as that of the original, and soldered a brass hook in the middle... lost my dad in 2000 but major bludd still continues to serve the cobra forces with his bionic transplant.

I lost Cover Girl when I was throwing her in the air and she landed on the roof of the neighbor's house. Never saw her again, but I can only imagine that she was bleached to the point she looked like a prototype. ;)
My worst death was actually with my original big head Han Solo. Setting up my figs, HS was positioned--sniper style--on the family room lamp. Minutes later, I was crying my eyes out when HS's upper body was a lump of melted plastic. Never got him again until last year, when I purchased the original figure once again, repackaged by a fan.

Don't have many deaths but a lot of MIAs. Thankfully when 25th and POC hit I started to rebuild my forces.

My worst was when my v1 Storm Shadow mysteriously vanished in my room.
Sneaky ninja. Never to be seen again. There were also many that never made it back from the backyard wars. Cobra liked to bury them alive.
