Minus busted crotches, there were not deaths, just severe wounds. Thumbs, fingers (yes I had the whole hand break once,) lower legs/forarms getting blown off. Even had my Glider Pilot and Rippers heads break (broken necks.)

Hmm, when I was living on Ft. Polk we had a storm culvert down at the bottom of the slopes bewtween the houses. With the rocks and water it looked like the falls in First Blood Part II. Sgt. Slaughter ended up much like that Vietnamese officer.
Otherwise I don't recall too many Joe deaths. I know a Tomahawk "crashed" into a tree. |

My friend and I liked Demolition man. So when either force took a prisoner we would freeze them in a block of ice. I never liked Moondancer and Ton up. Plain uniform, skinny, crap accessories and a stuck up look, so they always got it. Being an impatient kid we would throw the ice blocks at concrete to speed up the defrosting. If only I knew how much Moondancer would be worth now.

Lost my vintage Jinx as a kid when our dog took her under the porch and a vintage Shipwreck acted as a baseball to my friend's baseball bat. I was so sad after the destruction that ensued that I vowed to never destroy a joe again.

These are not figure deaths, but they are painful none the less. One time I asked my sister to hand me my shoe that was across the room from me and right next to her. She threw a really hard overhand toss at me, and the shoe hit my prized '85 Snake Eyes that was on the arm of the chair next to me and some how his sword vanished. I looked everywhere for it--for years and years, but I never found it. It occured to me years later that the damn thing was probably in my shoe, which would have been the last place I would have looked.
And when I was about four, I tried to fix my Big Brother's Skystriker wing/landing gear problem that he hated so much, and I ended up completely breaking off the front landing gear. Bummer. He never forgave me. Even after I presented him with a 30th Anniversary Skystriker complete with Wing Fix mod, I could still feel his bitterness. He still also blames me for breaking his Rattler, but I was innocent. Revealed here for the first time ever.....the culprit was my Sister. Hope she will never see this--she could still totally kick my arse. |

I wore the original Spirit out. He lost his thumbs and crotch. His hair came off too. I super glued the hair back on and replaced his broken limbs with limbs from a BAT. So I turned him into a Cyborg Native American....go figure.

SE v1 ejected from the Skystriker and fell off the seat about 20 feet above some concrete. His Left arm snapped off and was never found. I used playdoo as a replacement arm for a while but finally gave him a military burial in the garden. He is probably still there wrapped in a small desktop-sized American flag.

My friend and I wanted to see how many firecrackers it took to demolish a Joe. Poor Ice Cream Soldier. One, two and even three 'crackers just discolored him. Four, and he was done for. I actually still have all the pieces somewhere!

LMAO Clayface Snake-Eyes. My VAMP got stepped on so I had to glue the rollcage together. I don't remember how Grunt lost his arm. I glued it on but with a gimp arm and no thumbs he was delegated to the passenger seat of the VAMP or driveing the APC. When we moved into a new house my sisters found a Roadblock under a radiator whose hands were so stretched out he couldn't hold a gun. Flint lost his fingers when I tried to make him hold Logray's staff. I thought it was odd that it was his fingers and not his thumb that broke. Strongest Joe thumb EVER! Gnawgahyde some how got his lower leg snaped off. Storm Shadow went MIA in the winter of '84. I was bringing my Joes in from an arctic adventure when I dropped him I didn't notice right away so I had no idea where he was. I found him when the snow melted. Then all my Joes went AWOL when my storage unit was robbed in '94. |
