You are forgetting about so many Cobra vehicles while doing your assessment. Instead of simple repaints that do not capture the imagine and come off cheap and nearly insult to the fan community how about dusting off some of the other molds if they still exist.
LAND: I don't want a Cobra MOBAT or Mauler, I want a Joe MOBOT AND Mauler! I have enough HISS I's, bust out some HISS II's the Maggot. AIR: The Rattler is a fine plane for aerial combat, if you're looking for something more dogfight specific, let's look at the Condor. Sea: The Moray could wipe the sea floor with a WHALE. Cobra already has the edge here. For me, I like small (vintage) Cobra vehicles. I don't army build the Joe's. They are a govt funded small organization with the best troops and the best technology. I army build the hell out Cobra because of this. They can't win through skill and weapon superiority. The win by sheer force. Small inexpensive craft that just over whelm the competition. HISS tanks, Firebats and Water Moccasins. It's all about numbers. That's the type of strategist I've always seen Cobra Commander as. Good point, but even the most rinky dink third world insurgent army has a few pieces of old russian armor lying around. At the very least cobra should have a proper apc to transport their masses of vipers and bats from battle to battle. |

The Maggot is a great vehicle, but it is for artillery not armor, but I'd like to see the Hiss II come back out as well. The hydrafoil was great, but it's hard to find these days and I'd love to see a 25th line edition. Thanks for the input this stuff is great. |

i want hasbro to remake so many vehicles but they really do need to remold them because rehashing old exsisting vehicles does not work for the 25th line, these figures are too big and dont fit, like zartans swamp skier for example, he looks so goofy on it. lol just thinking about it. plus if we get bigger vehicles it would just add so much more amazerment to this line. i really want a tomahawk and killer whale, i would be so thrilled about them if they were remade.

Hasbro should just buy BBI molds for all their armor and aircraft and repaint them.

Maybe I'm just too devoted to the comics, check out issue #34 of the classic Marvel series to see what the Rattler can pull off. The summary does not do the issue justice but it's the best I can find.
G.I. Joe Comic Book Archive Comic Answer: If memory serves me, the rattler was able to fly low enough to iniatiate a sneak attack. Also, Ace was not able to be as agressive because of the amount of civilians that were below and Wild Weasel exploited that fact. It ended in a draw, but Wild Weasel needed several environmental advantages to make up for his aircraft's shortcomings. Military Answer: I used to fly planes in the Air Force, and the A-10 is not an effective air craft for dog fighting. That fact more than anything has always inflluenced my desire for a better Cobra fighter. Hey good reference on issue #34 |

I've toyed with the idea of taking some whale lowers and customizing them into landing craft. anyone have ideas about this or seem one put together? |

Would anyone be interested if they made Joe and Cobra versions of a cargo plane or large helicopter that could carry vehicles and troops. It probably couldn't be to scale, but large enough to carry an Armadillo or Awe Striker. It could also handle dropping airborne troops. Any Comments?

I'm all for a somewhat scaled down Herky Bird for the Joes. I can see it as being large enough to carry a mini tank or AWE Striker, with room for troops as well. I'm picturing the design as being similar to the Millenium Falcon, in that part of the plane's top would have to be either removable or hinged to allow access to the cargo area. For that matter, the cockpit roof would also have to open to seat the pilots.
