With the 25th anniversary/modern era toyline we have received figures from both the comic book, and cartoon. There were some characters that were predominantly from the cartoon, and the same goes for some characters from the comic books. It has gotten to the point that months ago, Hasbro started putting symbols on the packaging denoting where the figure came from. Some characters are remembered more by their cartoon appearances, and some by their comic appearances. Over the years there has been demand for cartoon accurate figures. Some fans have fond memories of the Sunbow versions of their favorite characters, and would like to see figures with the same paint deco as their animated counterparts. At the same time there has been demand for comic accurate figures, and more characters exclusively from the comic, such as Dr. Venom, Kwinn, and Billy. Ultimately some fans prefer cartoon deco over comic deco(which tends to be more realistic), and vice versa.
So for the poll of this week, who would you want to see more in the modern era line, comic based characters, or cartoon based? We've seen figures such as the DVD pack Snake Eyes figures, both of whichn are cartoon based, while the wave 1 single card version with Timber is still a very popular figure. There was demand for wave 9 Hawk to have brown hair, while some fans such as myself wished for blonde, as that is his hair color in the comics. Ultimately the cartoon fans got their wish on that one. A cartoon accurate(mold wise) Storm Shadow from the Sunbow cartoons is coming in the next Cobra 5 pack. DISCUSS! |

There are so many great comic book charecters i would love to own: Billy, Quinn, Dr. Venom, Zanya, Heartwrencher, Captian Mihn, Pale Peony, Blind Master, Soft Master, The Jugglers, Mayday, Phoenix Guard, some DDP versions of Charecter, and maybe even the Paine Brothers.
And that is just off the top of my head, thought i'd buy cartoon figures too. |

I voted comic. I grew up with the cartoon, but as I grew older wanted to know more about the comics, and ended up liking the comics much more than the cartoon. For me, I like how the characters are portrayed much more in the comic, and my buying choices are primarily character driven. I think the cartoon based figures have their place in the line, for example I think it is neat that a cartoon color Snake Eyes came in the Pyramid of Darkness DVD set, however I'd like to see much more figures based on characters in the comic and how they looked in the comic. Characters such as Kwinn, Billy, and Dr. Venom. The Plague. Storm Shadow from the DDP solo series. Scarlett from America's Elite. From the cartoon I'd like to see Night Creeper Leader, and a few others, but most of my picks would be from the comics.

For me, it's definately the comics characters that I would like to see. Kwinn, Dr. Venom, Gen. Flagg, and others would be awesome. In fact, just about any charcters from the Marvel issues 1-36 that we haven't seen already would make me happy.

What about a waves of 2 cartoon 2 comics 2 classic? Everyone would almost be happy.Well there will always be that same person you know who you are "why didn't they make X before (that) DDP character?"
So I pick all the above.

I voted for comics. I would love for them make some characters from the marvel run. I would like if they made Kwinn in both arctic and jungle gear, Dr Venom and Billy in Cobra scout uniform and in ninja training gear.

What I want to see is more updates to the original line, mixed with characters from the comics. The cartoon has great characters, but when they make figures in the cartoon colors, they tend to be... oh... hideous.

Yeah they really do...
But then, I don't care what the figure's suppose to represent so long as its a good representation. No more yellow Serpentors or Comic Rock 'n Rolls with the Charlie Brown eyes. |
