For those of you who are hard-core collectors. How much "fat" does your collection have?
You know, things that you don't really collect, but have become part of your collection. Or things that you bought out of habit before realizing you didn't really want them. Maybe you got half-way through troop-building a specific squad before changing you mind. Stuff you bought with the intention of modding or trading it, and never got around to it. Maybe you had it in mind to be a "completist" and then space limitations forced you to become a more bansai style minimalist. Basically, the question is this.....how many toys have you collected which you do not consider to be part of your COLLECTION. For me, the number is very small. I have an extra Snake Eyes that I got when I thought I might not get the chance again. Also, I have a few cheap-o toys and figures that I use for modding practice and extra parts. How about you, how much "fat" do you have? Josh

why would you buy something if you didn't really want it? And then even if you did, why would you hold onto it?

I consider all of the DVD packs minus the last one fat.

I cut all the fat away and have become much more picky about what I buy. I'm still drowning in action figures...help!

Not really much. The only thing I can think of is the extra Destros from the IG comic packs that I bought when they were on sale to get more IGs.
I'm organizing my collection right now in order to display it, so maybe you could count the multiple versions of certain characters that I don't like as much or don't fit into the scheme of the display. Like multiple Destros, CCs and SSs. Although SE might get a shelf to himself. |

Not Joe stuff, but I do have a bunch of random action figures clogging up my closet.

On the whole, not a lot, just the useless re-paints from multi-packs and comic packs that I was forced to get for new figures.

My collection's pretty lean, I just don't buy things I don't want/need.

The only things I'd consider "fat" would be some of the extra figures that come with the packs (Firefly from the Greenshirt pack, SE from the Red Ninja pack, Nemesis Immortal, the Dukes/Stalkers from the movie packs).
They're not wasted, but just don't get displayed unless I need the character and it's already being used in another scene.
