Many collectors are unhappy with the idea of current Classified figure prices.
After some thought I came up with a potential solution. What if instead of paying some large price at the purchase time for a figure, and even for shipping, a different pay structure was in place? For instance, a consumer could order four Classified figures from Target and shipping would be waived. Then the purchaser would just pay a small monthly fee for each figure. Say, $1.5 per month for a basic figure or $2.5 per month for a character like Croc Master or Serpentor. That way it could be easier to purchase all the figures at once that a collector wanted to. Maybe this idea is ahead of it's time. What is your opinion?

I believe this is what people use credit cards for.

Yeah, this is basically an interest free or low interest loan J James. An upfront loan to pay it up front and then you pay off the loan in installments.
The Banks don't have an incentive to do this. The Credit cards or Paypal all offer monthly payment plans like this already, but obviously as a high interest loans to suck interest payments per installment paid etc.

Some websites, such as Sideshow, already have options like this through Affirm. They also have layaway options. Quite useful since Hot Toys are very expensive. So you have just reinvented the wheel, as retailers and other sites have been doing this for years.

I don’t want to be a jackass but $25 to $40 is not a large sticker price. It gets to be a large sticker price when you buy 15 $35 figures, but if you’re complaining about cost at that point I really don’t think interest free loans are going to fix your problems.

Just to be clear, this concept would not be until a certain preset amount was collected, it would be $1.5 per month (or maybe even 75? per month) as long as the figure is kept by the collector.

Like don't get me wrong, Classified is still a rather cheap line to go completionist on all things considered despite the higher output and increased. You're looking at roughly 4.5 waves of 5 figures a year which roughly $600 dollar with taxes and then we'll generously double that with exclusives and you're looking at $1200 for a whole year. That's a high amount but it's not like they're putting out a Transformers or Marvel Legends amount of product. You really only get in trouble with Classified when you start army building but even then most collectors probably aren't buying more than 2 of each army builder.
