... the band, not the BS.
Anyway, Hardcore fans, check this out. I just got this in the weekly Revelation Records email. It's the fun fact of the week. Quote:
---------------
REVHQ FUN FACT --------------- New York Hardcore stalwarts Sick Of It All are known for their anthemic songs and straightforward lyrics, but the story behind one of their songs may not be so clear. If you're familar with SOIA's 1989 LP "Blood, Sweat And No Tears," then you most likely remember the song "G.I. Joe Headstomp." Since the track has no lyrics and is just an instrumental, you may have wondered what was up with the name. In an old interview with SOIA vocalist Lou Koller, it was revealed that their former drummer, after having seen a "Revelation Records Trade-List" (which asked people to send in their old G.I. Joe toys in trade for rare versions of Rev releases), pulled the head off his G.I. Joe and "stomped" on it, joking that he would never trade his G.I. Joe to Revelation! The band immortalized his statement by way of that song's title. |

Surprisingly my first thought upon reading the thread title was "huh? haven't heard anything from SOIA in a while".

Ya know I always wondered what the meaning of that song was. I've toured with SOIA numerous times and never thought to ask them. Thanks for the info!

Cool story!
I have heard of Sick Of It All, but I never listened to them. Some of my hardcore music buddies listened to them in the early 2000's, I think... |
