I'm sure most if not all of you have seen the new product posted on the front page threads. After looking at what's going to be delivered, I have a feeling that Hasbro has been reading the forum sites and really absorbing the comments and feedback. It seems they've made some reactionary moves that are very favorable for fans.
First off, they're now mixing in some much better figures into Retaliation waves 3-5. Second, there's some new molds on top of a lot of POC frankenfigures, most of which look fantastic. I have a feeling a lot of what's getting "shuffled" (as they said in their powerpoint preso) in is what they already had planned for the follow up line. Considering the movie release delay, they've reorganized the waves to include product they already had on the roadmap for next year. I believe some of the things we've seen were coming anyways like the second set of three packs and a few alphas that would have been store exclusives. I'm feeling much better about the line now. Before it was a lot more bad than good and now it's totally flipped as it should be. My disappointment from four months ago has turned into excitement for the movie launch. I'm still not going to see it in theaters but oh do I love those toys! On another note, after looking at the powerpoint presentation and what they had in the display cases, it seems like there were a lot of mistakes and mismatches. I'm going to guess the shuffling is still happening or hasn't been locked down. The comment they made about not releasing a wave 2 for the DG figures because people couldn't get them didn't make any sense to me. Are the variants still part of the first wave and we haven't seen them yet or were they wave 2? They must have sold enough figures in to DG to be profitable. It's not their job to make sure they distribute them properly. I'm not sure why not being able to find figures in Rhode Island would prevent them from creating or selling another wave in if DG wanted to buy them. I don't know, sounds fishy to me and I'd like a better explanation. In fact, I'd like more info surrounding the DG figures. Were they requested by DG or thought up at Hasbro and sold in? Anyways, feel free to chime in. I'm a happy camper and curious how the rest of you feel. post edit: I'm a big Firefly fan. Just curious about the differing paint apps comparing the images from the floor, official images, the powerpoint and viperkingdom's posting. I've posted all the images below for comparison.

I'm feeling a lot better about the line as well. It certainly doesn't make up for the lack of news on if some of the POC/30th concepts get released at all, but it helps.
The only figures I don't care for is Flint and the v2 style ultimate SE, I'd rather pick up the 3 pack night/ninja ops with SE assuming he has the Commando head. But everything else looks great; the Eel, Cobra ninja trooper I even like the Crimson Guard. Might even pick up the Duke if the final release has that alternate head and UAV.

I'm honestly not that upset about loosing any of the concept figures except maybe Kwinn. I'm sure we will get the Zombie CC as a proper CC at some time. I just didn't see anything in there I have to have. Most of it was kitbashed. I really liked the Renegades stuff, but I am over that series by now.

Forget that wave 2 flint. The one coming after it blows it out of the water. I totally agree with the op, this movie line is incredibly solid, with a lot of great figures.

About the DG comments: I get it. What I hear is that they were politely saying that they were reconsidering their deal with DG because they were unhappy with distribution, as it has clearly been uneven. And they are trying to figure out why DG can't get figures to excited fans. So, they aren't going to ship more figures until they can get some stuff understood. About sales - if they are sold out in every store that carries them, but few of those stores have restocked and a vast minority of the stores even carried them, then sales aren't that hot - or at least, nothing like they could be. Hasbro wants DG to restock and restock and restock and sell the heck out of these figures. And if they aren't going to even stock them in the first place, then let someone else sell them. Obviously, DG has a lot of figures in a warehouse somewhere and they aren't getting out. Why send more figures that wouldn't get out to the consumer?
The images you showed were two different Firefly figures. The more desirable one is the gray one that comes in the three pack and has the jacket and turtleneck. The "Ultimate" is the green Firefly with the open jacket that is based on the movie. To me, it is ironic that most fans would consider the gray figure "Ultimate" and the green figure the "movie" figure. Same with Snake Eyes - the 3 pack figure is the PoC commando version which many labeled the ultimate version, yet Hasbro has labeled the v2 homage the "Ultimate" Snake Eyes.

Yeah, even though they haven't shown a ton of stuff, the things they did show has made me a lot more optimistic for the movie line. The accessory count looks to be way up, and the articulation is a lot better compared to wave 1.

I'm freaking ecstatic. I love the FF's, I love the ultimate Duke, I love the night landing. I'm still looking froward to the ninja combat cruiser. I'm ready. It's looking good.
I think the lighting is playing a part in the differences you're seeing with FF. I'm willing to bet that what viper kingdom is selling is the finished product, as these were supposed to be released in a week or so. I want one of those so dang bad.

As far as the FF's go, I agree that the 3 pk fig is "ultimate". I'm not really feeling that Snake Eyes. I think the "ultimate" one was wave 3 of PoC.

Family Dollar seemed to keep the 25th figures in stock regularly a while back. Maybe Hasbro should go that route.
I do feel better about where the line is headed. I still am frustrated by how far it seemed to derail after the 30th figures. But I think I'm more frustrated by how many of the exclusives that I want I'll never get. I really want the Oktober Guard set, but I don't want the IG figures. I mean, it doesn't matter since the non-attending figures sets sold out instantly.
