Hi all,
This may have been disscussed in other threads but I was wondering ( and need some hints from others) is I am moving in a short while and need to find a way of removing the rotor blades with out breaking them. Does anyone have any suggestions or should i just either by a correct size display case that takes into account the span of the blades that is portable ? I thank you all for any suggestions or helpful hints. |

i think its possible to just pop the entire rotor unit with blades attached straight from the body with a bit of gentle pressure and twisting. this method i have used.
or im not 100% but the part that holds the rotors in is in 2 halfs and can be pried apart but please wait till someone else chimes in just in case im wrong there may be a screw holding them together. i dont wanna be responsible for bad advise and it breaking. its been a while since i had to repair a tomahawk. hope thats of some help |

My tomahawk rode with me in the front seat of my car when I moved about 6 months ago.

That was a big help though I'm still a little skiddish about using a screw driver but have thought of doing that. Thanks again for the link though. I may have to do like what fireflyguy did ( to which I did bringing it home from the store). But again I'm open to all suggestions and thanks for all the advice so far. It is a big help.

First off DO NOT try to remove the whole rotor hub by prising the two halves of the body apart as mentioned above, the body is glued together with very good quality glue. The chances are you'll crack the body.
I've used the screwdriver trick with 3 complete Tomahawks and never broken a single blade. Just take your time, after the first one is out and you've got the knack, the others will pop out easier and in no time. One tip is, when you lever the top of the hub, lift the blade and pull it outwards AND sideways SLOWLY. Did i say TAKE YOUR TIME!!
