There's been enough talk about a reboot of ARAH (ok, I may be making that up) to warrant some thought on toy offerings. how's this?
Season 1 (2014) Alpha($12): RAM Cycle: Harley Davidson ?? w detachable sidecar and .30cal Claw: Retooled from the original Falcon: Powered Hang Glider Bravo($15): Firebat: modernized firebat similar to Skysweeper (with a proper landing gear) Armadillo: Slightly larger and retooled version of the original with some plausible way of loading the weapons. Delta($20): MOBAT: Bradley Armored Fighting Vehicle Rattler: A-10 Thunderbolt VTOL (rerelease) Echo($35): Tomahawk: V-22 Osprey Season 2 (2015) Alpha: Joe Seal Raft Cobra Jet ski M.A.N.T.A: sailboard with a gun. Bravo: A.W.E Striker: variant of 25th mold Water Moccasin (no really, call it the @#$%#$ Water Moccasin) Reimagined Cobra flight pod Delta ($20): Vamp: POC variant Hiss: POC variant Stinger: POC variant of VAMP Echo ($35): SkyStriker: F-35B Night Raven: Eurofighter. Season 3 (2016) Alpha: Drednaught Motorcycles ?? Beta: ?? ?? Delta: Fang: Based on the Black Dragon Dragonfly: AH-1Z Viper Conquest: Rereleased Conquest. Echo: ?? Why not just keep going with POC? Per your HISS suggestions I'd prefer the retaliation HISS repainted V1. Same goes for Beachhead -retaliation repaint of V1.
They already have all the sculpting/molds they could need, they really aught to just hold polls on HISSTank about which figures and vehicles to release (similar to how HOH was done), as well as what parts and paint schemes to go with. Minor sculpting shouldn't be an issue, and likely won't be needed that often. Their marketing department should be fired, just borrow free labor from the Tank! As well I'd like to see a repaint of the Grizzly Patriot as a MOBAT, Night Attack Chopper (with non-crooked rotors) as a Dragonfly (with teeth decals), and a repaint of the Night Attack Humvee as Vamp mark I.

I think getting a POC'd take on the original Duke, Scarlett, Rock n Roll, Breaker, Grunt, Steeler, Flash, and Grand Slam, with new Cobra Troopers and Officers, and some really ultimate CC would be a good place to start for figures.
I think rereleasing some old molds would be more than fine, but GI joe has to also move on somewhat from the military of the 1980s...

I think we're more likely to get a non-ARAH "reboot" of G.I. Joe than we are to get a toy line as expansive as the one described here, unless the movie and movie toys are a huge hit.

hopefully not. ARAH is terribly dated, obsolete, and needs to be laid to rest. My hopes lie towards a complete reboot, with a more streamlined focus, with all new characters and vehicles. The 80s are gone. Let it go man.
EDIT: Also, GIJoe is character driven now and not all about a bunch of vehicles. Your list is very vehicle heavy and alot of that stuff will most likely sit on the shelf, humbly waiting for clearance. Last edited by Angry.Android; 06-15-2012 at 06:59 AM.. |

Hasbro - if you are reading this please dismiss the call for any more AWE Strikers. We have had enough of those, thanks.

I think the biggest thing you'd be fighting going back to a 80's ARAH style figure/articulation is the what everyone else is doing in the market now. Unfortunately between the better sculpts and more lifelike everything has become, not to mention w/ the more natural articulation for better posing of the figures that they have become now, an older ARAH articulation figure would be more of a collector thing and very limited in sales. I think it would have a hard time going up against all the the other mass produced stuff out there, and be more of a comic shop/exclusive kind of thing. :( Funny, the figures have gotten better, and getting a simpler one is now more expensive and more exclusive. About the only way around this as I see the future of the market cheaper wise, is what we have seen in the Dollar General figures - same basic sculpts to a limited degree, w/ less detail on the paint apps and fewer accessories. My $0.02
