So it sounds to me like what worked on us back in the day still works now. Go figure. C'mon Hasbro, you figured it out once . . .

The other excuse is some vague idea about trends being different now. All the more reason to try a US MILITARY angle and see if it doesn't catch on.. it will be unique among the other lines out there. When GI Joe follows trends instead of setting them it tends to fail (look at what happened in the 90's when Hasbro had Joe turning into Captain Planet, Ninja Turtles, etc.) |

Yeah, the kid has valid complaints against Renegades. For all the criticism over it's cancellation, I do not think it would have remained compelling after it's second season as an A-Team clone. Plus the method of finding Joes was at times just too campy and unmilitary.
Rebooting ARAH would be a good idea. This time, Hawk in charge from the beginning.... |

Wait, was she mad cause he said the word "pussies", or was she mad because he was calling the Joes pussies?

Well said. G.I. Joe back in the 80's WAS the action figure trend setter. Hasbro has shown they still have it in them with the POC and 30th lines in terms of the quality of figures/accessories, etc. If they can let G.I. Joe BE G.I. Joe, then they can do this. |

My step son couldn't care less about gijoe. I've bought him a bunch over the years, but still he just never got interested. He prefers the mega bloks Halo figures and Lego.
I think it's great that Alex was interested inthe joe cartoon we grew up with, but I think he might be the minority. My kid just looks at those old cartoons as "old." And as for saying kids play differently now a days, I think that's true. Kids don't need toys today as much as we used to back I. The '80s. |
