so steam them lightly and place something heavy on them. do i need to put anything in between the heavy object (book) and the card to prevent it from sticking. Do i wait until the light steaming is dry. Anymore details ? I really dont want to screw them up anymore than they already are, so im being very cautious. just wanna make sure i understand this method completely.
It's never going to be perfect, but I think you have a chance at making it better. Alternatively, I really am in favor of everyone opening their figures and playing with them because it's what they're there for. |

Seriously man. The steam iron method works. I used a cotton T-shirt to cover some bent card backs & then steam ironed them and they look great now. Just practice on an easily replaceable figure and start out on low heat. You won't mess it up that way.
I also discovered that you can hold a hair dryer over a crushed card bubble and it will reform to its original shape (mostly). Just be careful, too much heat will warp it. |

Hey lclements1, this guy's got a MOC collection that he's considering opening:
http://www.hisstank.com/forum/g-i-jo...open-them.html If he decides to open 'em, why don't you see if he'll trade you his MOC stuff for your stuff? Hey lclemente1, Jonathan had a good suggestion. If you want to keep them mint on card, to contact this guy and see if he would be willing to swap out fig for fig and this way you both get what you want. He get's to open the figs and you get them again MOC. It's a win, win provided that he agrees to it, but you won't know until you contact him. Feel bad for your mishap.

Dude, that sucks. I really feel for you. You may be SOL. Even if you could straighten them, they're no longer mint or even worthwhile keeping in package, in my mind. If you don't have any loose ones, I'd just open 'em. Or try to sell 'em as a loose lot online to recoup some losses.

The cards can be straightened out. I have done it with vintage ones. Not sure how the chrome/foil will react though. I pmed you about it.

Which Vintage figures were ruined? I have an almost complete set of single figures MOSC from wave 1-current that I would trade for damaged MOC items from the early days (to open and have mint examples).
Sorry for your mishap man. If you do decide to buy them all back, let me know with a PM and Ill sell you a set for cost (including Flint and the other rares). Although, that deal is ONLY for the original poster, dont need a ton of PM's asking me to do that for anybody else. |
