Not to switch topics, Deep-six is a SEAL for me and Master Chief and Effects are my Navy EODs, but has anyone ordered Marauders Task Force troopers?
I received mine yesterday and they are pretty great. Although I will need to do some serious glueing. A lot of potential missing characters could be made out of these. My question is about the Red and Blue trooper. If you were to come up with a unique Cobra or Badguy or even someone missing what would you call these two?

I think I've seen somebody on here use these as a base for Tomax & Xamot so there's one answer to your question. Might use the blue one as Krake or an updated Scrap Iron. |

Damn that's a good list Tanksmasher. I was planning on using the Camo "Carmens" as Spetznaz to bolster my Oktober Guard, but I see Naval Combat Crews when holding them and I can't shake the Kamakura I feel inside.
I was thinking of making the Desert guys all Action Force members. Like Doc and Sapper. I like Krake Topside. I probably won't replace existing figures.

That's a good idea. I haven't put much thought into Action Force. I will get to them eventually. For Cobras, there are a lot of cool color possibilities. Not sure what to designate them though.
Red troops w/ black vests = CG SWAT? Red troops w/ blue vests = CG security? Black troops w/ red vests = Black troops w/ blue vests = Black troops w/ green vests = Blue troops w/ black vests = Vipers Blue troops w/ red vests = Viper Commanders Blue troops w/ white vests = Viper medics Blue troops w/ gray vests = Viper EOD Blue troops w/ green vests = Viper recon scouts? White troops w/ black vests = Arctic Troops |

The Black troops with balaclavas would make awesome SAS guys, but then I have to buy more head pieces. I will most likely do so

I suppose you could use the red troops as siegies in combat gear. Also could be a buffed up Lifeline and Med Alert.

So I need some suggestions on the placement of some of my Joes. As I already stated one of my ideas is to organize them like the SAS (a squadron made up of four Troops of 16 men. Each Troop is classified as HALO, SCUBA, Mountain and Mobility). Each 16-man Troop is organized into four 4-man Patrols. Each member of a Patrol is trained in either demolitions, signals, linguistics, or medical.
Obviously some Joes will be easy to place (Static Line is a demolitions expert on a HALO Troop) but others, not so much (where does Sci-Fi go?). Someone like Grunt I would make a signals expert. I would imagine his time as an artillery coordinator (a forward observer) would make him proficient in the use of radio's. But what Troop would he be placed in? Basically I have my Joes in four categories: those that I know where to place (Troop and proficiency), those I know what Troop they belong to but not a proficiency, those whose proficiency is obvious but not the Troop, and those i have no idea either way. Here are those who fall in the last category: Mutt Law Wide Scope Shockwave Barricade Red Zone Checkpoint Sandstorm Lockdown Dusty Footloose Muskrat Low-Light Hollow Point Cross Hair Mouse Bullhorn Quick Kick Beach Head Spearhead Budo Scoop Rampart Any ideas on these? EDIT: Forgot to add that I am placing my arctic guys in a Mountain Troop. If I recall military arctic training also covers mountaineering (and vice versa). Anyway the four arctic pilots are a bit of a sticking point (Frostbite, Avalanche, Windchill, and Cold Front) as they can either be placed on a Mountain Troop or a Mobility Troop. So where would you all place them? Last edited by john shaft; 06-28-2015 at 10:05 PM.. |

Wow, you sure don't make it easy, John Shaft! I'd make Beach Head HALO with a specialty in demolitions. Low Light could be SCUBA and either demolitions or medical. Footloose would be Mountaineering and medical. Dusty would be mountaineering and linguistics. Muskrat is SCUBA and medical. Scoop would be signals, maybe mobility. Hope this helps!

you could always add a MOUT Troop or a Jungle Troop. MOUT would immediately take care of
Mutt Law Wide Scope Shockwave Barricade Red Zone Checkpoint Lockdown Bullhorn Quick Kick Sandstorm could either go in MOUT Troop or Mobility as a biker. Low-Light Hollow Point Cross Hair Mouse I would use as a sniper squad who would be attached on an as needed basis to which ever group needed them. |
