Yeah, I think the suits at Hasbro would be the main impediment to something like this taking place. I imagine they would want a great degree of control and oversight. That could make it hard, but it's not like George Lucas doesn't have those same issues... and if they can do it for Star Wars, they could do it for Joe.

Hell yeah. Lucas is the biggest control freak out there, if he can allow it then hasbro could/should do it.

Thursday I was browsing Barnes and Nobles and Hastings to see if I could find G.I.Joe Above and Beyond. I found it and the Rise of Cobra in the Science Fiction section.
I was looking at Ripcord`s and Heavy Duty`s Filecards. Ripcord`s Rank is a E-8 Master Sergeant and Heavy Duty`s is E-5 Sergeant. Since Heavy Duty was in G.I.Joe before Ripcord, shouldn`t he have the higher rank? |

In fact, it is often the case that time in Special Operations units can prevent promotion. Recon Marines were often advised not to stay in Recon for very long, as it was a career killer. Promotions are made one a need basis... if the Army needs generals, it will promote them, and the effects trickle down. In a unit as small as the Joe team, there wouldn't be a lot of room for regular promotions. There may not even be slots for positions of higher rank. So being on the team for a long time would necessarily mean promotion.

Question(s)? Who are generally regarded as the most dangerous soldiers in the US Military?
Outside of the fantasy element of Snake-eyes being a ninja.... who is the toughest or would be the toughest JOE? |

Low-Light may not be a great close-quarters fighter, but as a sniper he is an incredible threat to enemy forces. Snipers typically have the greatest kill ratio per rounds fired and the greatest number of confirmed kills among infantry, but they fight in a unique way. SEALs go through incredibly tough training and are very skilled soldiers and do see combat but they may not see as much action as Rangers or Delta operators. It's hard to compare different units. But I'll vote for Low-Light. |
