Look at it this way: if they're going to use military jargon in the filecards, why would a slightly obscure word be any more of a problem? It's better than pandering to some vague ideal of what "kids" may or may not understand.

No, not really. It makes perfect sense to use it there. The sentence is almost philosophical in it's intent and meaning. Using "wont" there is perfectly acceptable. What other word would fit in there with the way it's written and structured? I couldn't think of one.

I agree.... It may be a good word, but com'mon!!! I say it as "won't"..... You really think a 7 or 8 year old kid will know that? I'm 27 and didnt know that!

Some do - I did (I was 9 at the time, however).

When I was 8 or 9, I didn't care about what words were used. I saw a bunch of unfamiliar words in the filecards. I just cared about the meaning of the sentence and pictured Snake-Eyes like a spring, all coiled and ready to snap.

Before we delve further into the syntax of the file cards and the vocabulary skills of 7-9 year olds, I'd like to talk with Troynos about his chain-of-command.
I think the structure you choose to use should be based on the number of Joes you have to use. I have a large collection - you might even say a VERY large collection. So, I treat the Joe Team like it's a miniature version of the Department of Defense. I divide it into the Navy/Marines, Army, Air Force, and Special Ops Command. That system works for me because it gives me an organized way to place all my Joes and vehicles. If you have a smaller size collection, a system like mine wouldn't make any sense. You may want to go with a smaller unit of specialists who can be stationed around the globe. Each unit could sort of be self contained and self sufficient. That's certainly a good way to do it. My system had to be developed because I looked around one day and realized how much stuff I have and I'm kind of crazy about sticking to the Joes qualifications and specialties. So, I had to develop a large chain-of-command. But I've seen how other guys use their Joes. Loose Cannon seems to have a good system that works for him. He uses Duke as an O-8... That's not my system, but it works for him based on the size of his collection (number of figures and number/type of vehicles). The main question in organizing your Joes is: Does this chain of command offer the greatest Mission Capability? However you have to work that out based on the parameters of your resources is fine. I think it would be very hard for me to offer any more concrete suggestions simply because I don't know what you have available.

A Vintage G.I. Joe Comandos "URZOR" By Hasbro - eBay (item 110313048184 end time Nov-22-08 20:08:25 PST)
I got mine and I love him. So I watch out for him. though I've lost out on more than 6 bids over the years. It probably goes for about $55-$60 in the end.

Also known as "Blue Falcons" or "Spotlight Rangers" in which case they would not be "High Speed, Low Drag".
