Great updates on Spearhead (one of my favorites) and Super Trooper. Super Trooper actually works now, still a bad codename, but it's workable.
I agree with Loose about not having enough Marines in the Joe team. Which is kind of odd, Marines are tough, that's a fact, so there should be more of 'em in the Joe team.

Have y'all seen this new RoC "PIT Commando"? It is a GREAT figure with a lot of great accessories. It almost seems funny to troop build a SWAT Team, but if people want to use this figure for a Steel Brigade unit, that's a good use.
I was thinking that by itself, not as a troop builder, this figure reminds me of the 12" Rapid Fire figure, who was an Urban Commando. The original 3.75 Rapid Fire was a character with really great/interesting qualifications, but a simply terrible costume. Using this guy as a new Rapid Fire figure could work really well... or with that shield, he could be the new, updated Super Trooper. What do y'all think?

I don't know if Hama just didn't feel comfortable enough (in terms of knowledge) writing about Marines or if it was a reflection of the USMC being something of an "orphan service" in the spec-ops community up until recently. It was only a few years ago that the Marines finally started having an official role in USSOCOM operations.

I'm a huge advocate for a bigger Marine Corps presence in G.I. Joe. I suppose that instead of turning Army characters into Marines, I would just like to see new Marine Characters. We could use a Marine pilot. We could always use another Recon Marine and a Sniper. Marine Armor would be cool. We don't have many tankers as it is. Marine MP could be interesting.
I once saw a documentary about how the Marine Corps uses dirt bikes for recon. A Marine with a dirt bike could be cool. I've also wondered this about the Corps: The Army has Special Forces, and beyond that it has Delta and ISA. The Navy has the SEALs, and beyond that it has DEVGRU. The Marines have Force Recon, but why don't they have a Counter-Terrorist Group like Delta or DevGru? It would seem like they would want to have that capability. They seem pretty focused on being self contained and self sufficient. I don't know, I suppose I'm worse than Rumsfeld about dreaming up new ideas for Special Operations units. I just think the Marines could form a very excellent "Delta" equivalent. ... I still think the Coast Guard should have it's own SEAL/Anti-Terrorist Unit. The Department of Homeland Security could really use a Unit like that inside the United States... sort of a Maritime Counterpart to the FBI's HRT. Speaking for Marines in G.I. Joe, I think it would be AWESOME if we got a (British) Royal Marine... maybe even from the SBS. We've got Big Ben and Sky Mate. Why not have a representative from the SBS, which is primarily made up of Royal Marines (who are REALLY tough).

I tend to think that a figure like the PIT Commando would be an excellent update for Rapid Fire. For Super Trooper, something similar would work very well; I suppose I would want him in a different camo pattern. And if they did give us some more British Joes, or rereleased Big Ben, I wouldn't mind seeing a camo pattern like DPM (the British Pattern) and some berets of the proper color.

A couple more to add to the growing pile of filecards/images: Hardtop & Starduster Always thought that the Starduster code name was an odd fit. Sounds like something off of Rainbow Brite. Or it could be a stage name for an "exotic" dancer. 2008's "Skyduster" isn't any better. As always, their filecards can be found by clicking on the Filecard Project link in my signature. I saw the figure and I'm really pumped up about it. I have an original Glenda and an original Quarrel, so it's cool to see them represented in the 25th/RoC line.
As cool as it is to see those outfits revisited, I am slightly disappointed that Hasbro didn't keep them as their original character names. It would have been better if they had been blond and had been named Glenda and Quarrel... It's always nice to have a couple extra female characters. Quote:
In all seriousness, I think the chances of Hasbro re-releasing Super Trooper, updated or not, is pretty slim. That being said, I'd like to see something akin to Zulu's treatment of him. Heh - glad someone else caught that.

I'd love to see new marine characters, but chances of that are slim so making some of the other characters into Marines isn't that bad.
Zulu, Backstop is the only Canadian Joe, how are you going to make him a Marine?
