SAD Operators are recruited from Military Special Ops (no surprize), and mainly from Delta and DEVGRU. The individual I spoke with had been recruited from Marine Force Recon. Basically what he told me was that he sort of missed the Corps, because SAD doesn't offer the same level of closeness with it's members. You're right about the "GS" system. It's about seniority. Billy Waugh is a guy you should read about. The man is simply amazing. He was like a Sgt. Major, but when he went over to the Agency, he crosses over to the GS system and now I'm sure he's at Least a GS-15, if not an SAS (That's CIA for General). Once you're in the SAD, rank and promotion are about experience with SAD. The military is mainly just training for what comes next. However, if a Special Forces Captain came over to SAD they might start him off a little higher on the GS scale than they do an SCO who comes over. They are "civilians", and so they live separately - just like everyone else at CIA. There's no SAD Barracks in Washington or anything. When there's a mission or required training, they are assembled, but they never really get to know the other operators on a very personal level. This is intentional. SAD is our main Black Ops force for prohibited missions. They go where it's illegal to be. If the mission is compromised, or if one of them is captured, there's no cavalry coming to help them - they are completely written off. So the less they know about each other the better. |

That's actually a great idea. Your "B-Team" seems a little more aquatically focused... they might be an excellent counter part to my proposed "A-Team"... sort of like Delta and DevGru. I like that you included Drop-Zone. I think he's one of the most overlooked characters on the roster, even more so that Big Ben. He's a great character. I'm thinking of doing a custom ARAH version of him.

I made a custom ARAH Hollow Point by using the BTR Head, an Updraft torso, Low-Light (v2) arms, and Outback (v1) legs. Then I threw on a guille suit from Cross-Hair. It turned out really well. I'll try to get pics at some point, but it met my requirements for a Sniper for my Marines. Hollow Point is a great character and I always wonder, "Why on earth did it take this long to get a Marine Corps Sniper?!"
There's a great line where a rookie FBI agent is being yelled at by his superior for his embarassing performance in not even giving Swagger a tough time in getting away. "I'm two weeks out of the academy. He's a Marine Force Recon Scout Sniper. I think I'm lucky to be alive."

I think I'm going to have to resort to E-Bay to get the Rock 'n Roll. I refuse to buy that Deep-Six.

You don't have to tell me. The Town I been living in for the last 20 years has more CIA employees than the Cafeteria inside the George Bush Intelligence Center. (It's the same people anyway) I think the Joes are long overdue for an intelligence Commander who comes straight out of Langley and butts heads with Hawk, sort of like they made Duke into in the Devil's Due run. But that's why my Duke is a 0-7 equivalent. I was told that there are more Force Recon guys in SAD than the other branches? But of course there is no way to verify that.
I would think that Language proficiency would be a big thing for SAD guys. It would seem like Delta Operators with a SF background would be highly sought after. Haney tells a sad story in his book about how he was sent down to South America to take out a guy... after he killed him in an all night battle, he realized he new the guy - he was a Special Forces soldier who he thought the CIA may have recruited... and then the CIA tasked Delta with cleaning up their own mess. It was a very sobering account.

I can't download stuff on my dial-up. Is that video of Officer McGee? I've seen it; it's pretty hilarious.

No it's when Fumbles Joins GIjoe. They're mostly using 25th molds so it's must be pretty new. I never saw the whole episode, but my nephew wanted to see Robot Chicken episodes. He's only Six so we didn't get to watch more than one of these.
