I got an Armadillo a few weeks back as I was a fan of the original when I was younger.
How do people see the Armadillo being used by their Joes? I'm tempted to make a small mobile anti-armor team or a fire support team with my lone Armadillo. Maybe Bazooka, Short Fuze and perhaps Thunder as the driver. |

I use it as a fast armoured vehicle along side the AWE Striker as a light attack vehicle, with the HAVOC and Persuader as my heavier armour. Cover Girl drives my Armadillo.

I use the Armadillo as a drone that has the option of having a driver. It's used to provide light mechanized assistance to light infantry forces, particularly in areas not suitable for full size vehicles. It can serve as a scout, direct fire support capable of defeating anything that is not a tank, cargo carrying, and rapid transport for a couple of high priority soldiers (Commander, messenger, specialist that needs to get to a certain area, etc.).

Love the Armadillos. Makes a lot of sense for the Joes as a small fast weapon for lightning strikes. I guess it depends if you follow the logic that the Joes arsenal is just an inventory of canceled or in development prototypes which in this case they only have one or they have several? I mean where do these strange vehicles come from? I could see Bazooka and Zap driving their own or riding on the back of one to get as close as thy can as fast as they can and cause havoc.
So is the SLUGGER used in your Joe verse? Do the Joes just switch vehicles depending on the day or what has been destroyed over time or deployed for certain missions? It sort of goes back to how big is your Joe team? This being the issue with Artillery and Armor. I don't even have enough named joe drivers for all my vehicles so I pretend there are a good number of Green Shirts deployed as crew. My Armor\Artillery\Mobility Troop would have to be a good size based on what I have. My Armor section consisting of about 20 Vehicles. 6 Armadillos serve as recon, Point, vanguard, Wing for the Troop. From halfbattle.com: Heavy Metal (armor) Cross-Country (armor) Steam-Roller (armor) Bullhorn (armor) Steeler (tank commander, armor, armor officer) Cover Girl (armor, armored vehicle expert) Thunder (self-propelled gun artilleryman) Bazooka (tank driver) Frostbite (armor, armored vehicle driver) Back-Stop (armor, mechanized infantry) Avalanche (armored vehicle driver, cold weather survival driver) Wildcard (armored vehicle operator) Armadillo (armored assault vehicle driver) Heavy Duty (armor weapons systems operator) Barricade (armored vehicle driver) Thunderwing (tank commander, armor) Switch Gears (tank driver, armored vehicle driver) Specific Vehicles Cover Girl (Wolverine driver) Bazooka (Blockbuster driver) Windchill (Blockbuster driver) Frostbite (Snow Cat driver, Tiger Cat driver, Ice Sabre driver) Heavy Metal (Mauler M.B.T. Tank driver) Leatherneck (Brawler driver) Beach Head (Patriot driver) Colonel Courage (Patriot driver) Cross-Country (H.A.V.O.C. driver) Back-Stop (Persuader driver) Avalanche (Dominator driver) Mean Dog (Mean Dog driver) Armadillo (Rolling Thunder driver) Hot Seat (Raider driver) Long Range (Thunderclap driver) Cold Front (Avalanche driver) Major Storm (General commander) General Flagg (General commander) Cannonball (R.H.I.N.O. driver) Long Range (R.O.C.C. driver)

I usually assume all vehicles are mass produced unless indicated otherwise, or too piggin' huge - eg the MCC, General and Thunderclap. My 1996 era TOE for the Joes has them having M1A2 Abrams tanks, HAVOCs, AWE Strikers, Hammers, Wolverines and Armadillos which are used as needed by mission parameters. The Wolverines are used as MLRS.
This is how I set them up as tank crews for a fic I had planned... Armadillo – driver Steel 1-1 Major Barrage – commander Steel 1-1 Cover Girl driver Steel 1-2 Cross Country driver Steel 1-3 Hot Seat – gunner Steel 1-2 Major Storm commander Steel 1-3 Rumbler – gunner Steel 1-1 Mjr. Steeler – commander Steel 1-2 Switch Gears – gunner Steel 1-3 Cpt. Thunderwing – commander Steel 1-4 Long Range – gunner Steel 1-4 Backstop – driver Steel 1-4 |

I haven't got any heavy armour in my Joe team. I've got Cover Girl more in a role similar to how she appeared in Rise of Cobra. She is basically an intelligence assistant and driver for Hawk. |
