As far as the Mobat goes, while the toy only seated one figure, it was always sculpted to have hatches for a driver and commander. It is a vehicle that a full redo is needed to do it justice. It would have made more sense than a Skystriker for the first HasLab in that respect (hey, I backed 2 anyway)

Agreed! I think that Elite Force Abrams that has the turret that splits open would be a great design for a new MOBAT.

I think it's weird that the commander's seat is also the gunner's seat and the driver's seat (push it forward and watch it go!), or are we supposed to assume those little handles we always see Steeler grabbing are machine gun handles? (In which case, Steeler should be "inside" the tank while another JOE sits in the turret operating the machine gun.)

I know we have discussed EOD vs Combat Engineers who are EOCA qualified several times in the past but looking over both Trip Wire and Lightfoot's file cards has me wondering on a few items.

Trip Wire's mentions being proficient in explosives, detonators, ignition igniters, and blasting machines. Lightfoot's file card mentions mathematical calculations for explosives. Whereas Trip Wire's sounds more like what an actual combat engineer may go through in regards to training what about Lightfoot's? Would a combat engineer go through that kind of training or would that be more exclusive to an EOD tech?

Of all the Joes listed as "Demolitions" somewhere on their file cards I still am unsure where to place these two (as a combat engineer or in my EOD team).

I guess you could go either way depending on the structure of your units.. Although these two are definitely meant to be EOD guys

From what I've seen, Tripwire is the guy they bring with them on missions and Lightfoot is the guy that comes in after the mission is successful, to sweep the area. So I would put Tripwire as the combat engineer and Lightfoot as the EOD.

Yeah I keep going back and forth with those two. I definitely have too many engineers so figured those two fit the best in EOD (along with Depth Charge and Long Arm).

Their file cards would lead me to believe that as well. I assume EOD's learn the mathematical formulas and such whereas I would assume combat engineers do not? I will have to see if there are curriculums online for 12B and 89D MOS's.

Tripwire is also EOD, but Lightfoot is more methodical in his work, which isn't a good trait during an active mission and much better suited for cleanup duties after the fact.

Hi John,

I have them both as EOD, Combat Engineers who are Explosive Ordnance Clearance Agent qualified just means it's another tool in their skill set and will discharge / deactivate if they have to but if EOD is on hand, they'll just sit back and let them do their thing.

Nice to see the thread still going and to the new posters, welcome!

Glad to see any new discussion. Hope all you guys are doing well

This may be of interest; the story of retired CW-4 Dan Laguna, ex-SF who switched to being a helicopter pilot and flew with the 160th
