Yeah, Steeler as a S4 might be the way to go. Will have a think about that and other XO options. Thanks.
My take on Firewall is pretty much as the IDW comic, but I decided that she had been recruited by the CIA before joining the Joes, almost like a female Jack Ryan. For the Joes, her job is to run the intel team, liaise with other agencies and make sure that the right rules of engagement are clear on missions. I have her as reporting direct to Flagg, and the Jugglers, but maybe I should have her under Hawk instead. I went with a slight CIA spin as a way of having the joes doing deniable missions in certain countries. I see the team's role becoming more and more a clandestine war with Cobra. Bullet-Proof heads up a DOJ SWAT capability to find and deal with Cobra cells within the US. It would be BP's team who would be knocking down doors of a suspected Crimson Guard, rather than Duke and co.

I created a bunch of British characters for a customs project I was going to do last year. Anyone interested in the short bios I have for them?

No, they're an entirely new thing. I refused to even reuse codenames.
"Sabre Force is the code-name for Britain's daring, highly-trained special mission unit. Their role: to defend British interests from the forces of Cobra, a ruthless terrorist organisation bent on global anarchy." The team was inspired by someone's customs on here, of a "British Oktober Guard" that he called Royal Brigade. I thought the name was pony and thought Sabre Force was better and then, me being me, my brain went into overdrive and started creating characters and an idea for them to fit into ARAH comics continuity, then decided that was giving me problems, so I decided they were in a new 'verse, where Cobra came around in 2008 and are operating overseas as well in America. After GCHQ picks up chatter that a guy named "Overlord" is looking to create a Cobra group in Europe, Theresa May reluctantly orders the formation of a specialist unit to hunt them. The unit is small and hampered by a small budget. Being formed in 2018 Brexit Britain, they have no cooperation with the EU. I have an MTF figure I bought last year, that was basically a modernised Eagle. He is Harrier. I was planning to make Marauder figures of Storm Tide, Hot Shot, Jet and Cold Snap. I would've made Gambit and Wildcat if I had important parts missing. Chindit was probably going to be done after I saw what the Nam kickstarter offered. Since the moratorium on MTF selling to the UK, though, the project's dead. Col. Avon – commander and MOD liaison Speed-Freak – Army vehicle driver from the Pathfinder Platoon. Sergeant. Born in Hampshire near the Thruxton racing circuit, Speed-Freak became a kart racer at an early age. He joined the Army to save money to become a professional driver before becoming enamoured of driving cross-country in armoured vehicles. Speed-Freak served with the 9th/12th Royal Lancers cavalry unit and is a qualified and skilled driver of the CVR (T) series of vehicles. He subsequently joined the elite Pathfinder Platoon and became an expert driving light vehicles, like the venerable Land Rover. Ginger. Stewart Moss. Harrier – SAS operator and CQB specialist. Paratrooper turned SAS commando, Harrier from Oxford is a specialist in hostage-rescue scenarios, close quarter battle and urban warfare. Third gen paratrooper. Five years with the Paras and five years with SAS in both Boat Troop, B Squadron and the Counter-Revolutionary Warfare wing before joining Sabre Force. Highly skilled with several fire-arms, he prefers the M4 Carbine. James Kensington. Storm Tide – SBS commando. Previously a Royal Marine, Storm Tide is a skilled commando with demolitions and frogman training. Originally from Oldham, he grew to love the sea and the Naval life. He excels at boarding actions and operations at sea. Black. Mark Carter Cold Snap – SBS Arctic warfare specialist. Cold Snap is a graduate of the Royal Marines Mountain Leader course and a specialist in arctic warfare from the Scottish Highlands. He thinks nothing of doing forced marches through 6in of snow with heavy kit. Alexander Campbell. Gambit – SAS desert warfare specialist. Gambit is to deserts as Cold Snap is to snow. He loves nothing more than trekking across boiling deserts carrying heavy loads to blow stuff up. Loves playing chess and tries to stay two steps ahead of any opponent in any area of life. Part of Air Troop, A Squadron. Originally from Middlesbrough. Previously served with the Grenadier Guards. Brown hair. Kevin Hunter Hot Shot – Para reg sniper from Yorkshire, Hot Shot is a master marksman and carries a sniper rifle plus an M16 as his second weapon. Served with 2 Para in Afghanistan. Marksmanship is uncanny, used to win hoopla and coconut shy prizes when the fair came to town, won a darts contest at 17. Black hair. Luke Fletcher. Whirlwind – female RAF helo pilot and newest member. She is trained on the Merlin, Gazelle, Lynx and Puma. Grew up near RAF Odiham helicopter base which inspired her career choice. Short black hair. Rachel Feltham. Jet – female SRR operator, specialist in covert surveillance, intrusion and infiltration. Black hair. Often operates alone or with Harrier, Chindit or Gambit. Usually carries a suppressed pistol and a knife. From Cheltenham. Jo Staddon. Studied Russian and Arabic at Oxford. Joined the Army to the shock of friends and family. Assigned to Intelligence Corps. Subsequently attended Sandhurst. Volunteered for SRR after promotion to Captain. Served in Britain and in classified operations in Afghanistan and Iraq. Airborne qualified. Skilled in lock-picking, safe-cracking, advanced driving techniques. Wildcat – Royal Marine commando. Wildcat comes from a long line of Marines, including two great-grandfathers, several uncles and great-uncles, cousins and his father and grandfather. His family have served with the Bootnecks in the Napoleonic Wars, both World Wars, the Suez Crisis, Aden, Borneo, the Falklands, Iraq and Afghanistan. Wildcat himself has been a medical assistant, Mountain Leader, demolitions specialist and an instructor on the All-Arms Commando course. Lee Wilder. From Poole, Dorset. Chindit – SAS jungle warfare expert. Grandfather was in the ‘Forgotten Army’ in Burma, inspiring codename. Served with REME before he joined the Pathfinders and then the SAS Mobility Troop, A Squadron. Trained vehicle mechanic as well as being airborne qualified. Jackpot – Parachute Regt Paratrooper specialist. James ‘Jack’ Potter. Parachute instructor and trained in tandem jumps, acts as the team’s jump-master. Despite his codename, Jackpot hates gambling and leaving things to chance. He believes in making a plan and following it to the letter and having meticulous detail on every contingency going. Brown hair. From Leicester. Soundwave – Signaller. Royal Signals. As well as maintaining the team’s radio gear, he’s also a skilled computer programmer and cracker, as well as being trained in the use of several small tactical drones. Blonde hair. From Carnarvon in Wales. Euan Jones. Airborne qualified since joining the team. Samaritan – medic. Capt. in RAMC. Ginger hair female. From Penrith in Cumbria. Isobel Reed. Airborne qualified since joining the team. All Star – US Green Beret, liaison to the team from GI Joe. From Midwest America, track star in high school, running back in college gridiron. Dropped out to join US Army, served in Afghanistan as part of 82nd Airborne, served in Iraq as a 75th Ranger, joined Green Berets in 2016. Recruited to Joes in 2017. SF Weapons Sgt. Jungle warfare Combat Diver and Mountain Warfare qualified. Expert with FN F2000, G36, M16, Kalashnikov, Uzi, MP-7, MP5, HK416, FNC, FAMAS F1, AR70, ARX 160, FN SCAR, P90 and Steyr AUG. Nice little team you got there. Its too bad you can't get MTF figures. It would be awesome to see your vision in real life. No ranks? (I love ranks, but SAS Ranks structures always alludes me)

British Army ranks are easy: Private - Lance-Corporal - Corporal - Sergeant - Staff Sergeant. Dunno how the pay-grades work. Stuff like Lance-Bombardier and Trooper or Corporal of Horse are just weird names for those 5 ranks. Any sergeant-major is a post, not a rank. Regimental Sergeant-Major is a Warrant Officer post.
Jet and Samaritan are Captains, Whirlwind is a Flight Lieutenant (Captain equivalent) and the men are all Sergeants. If anyone was so inclined, I have the builds for Harrier, Cold Snap, Storm Tide, Jet and Hot Shot and could generate them for Wildcat, Gambit, All-Star, Samaritan, Speed Freak and Whirlwind. |
