I tend to approach the 3 and 4 star generals and admirals as more overseers than anything. Like Friendly Jugglers. They grease the wheels for the Joes to be able to borrow equipment, personnel, and resources needed in larger AOs. So the if there is an area they need to get into, and the local commander is a Colonel, then they send in one of the generals to essentially take over command. I guess Keel Haul would take over command of whichever carrier is in the region that is needed.

Wanted to get your opinions on an idea I had today.
What if the Joe’s had their own Cyclone-class patrol ship? Instead of an aircraft carrier. According to wiki it’s crew is 4 officers, 24 enlisted. I was playing with the idea that they (the Joes) operate one with just a crew of 12. Then the other 16 personnel are the naval Ops team. So for boat crew: - Keel-Haul as commanding officer (I was thinking of his rank going down to captain) - Cutter as his XO - Shipwreck as Chief - Mariner as a Boatswains Mate - Topside as Master-at-arms / Cryptologic Technican - then 7 Greenshirts to fill rest of crew Assault team: - Torpedo as team commander - Wet-Down as Assistant officer in charge - Tracker as Platoon Chief - Wet-Suit as Special warfare operator - Harpoon as Special warfare operator - Night Fox as Special warfare operator - 2 Greenshirts - Stingray as special warfare technician (I have link Talbot as a warrant officer that was apart of United States Navy Marine Mammal Program) - Deep Six as diver - Depthcharge as EOD - Periscope as Cryptologic Technician (he’s a unused concept that I saw on a Netflix show) - 4 Greenshirts Greenshirts are placeholders for any future Joes that would fit here. Ok. Well appreciate you all letting me rant about a idea I got while watching the office at work.

Currently my Joe team structure looks like the below. General Flagg is in charge and reports to Jack Ryan, NCTC Director. The Jugglers are more of a forum of different leads including Flagg, Joe Colton and Nick Fury.
Taskforce 82 - Joint Operations Executive, aka the "Joes". Commanding Officer - Flagg Military Field Commander - Hawk DOJ Lead - Bullet-proof Intelligence Lead/Liaison - Firewall (IDW) I'm thinking of using Steeler as XO to Hawk, mainly to deal with transportation and logistics. My team isn't going to have dedicated armour, so won't be using him as a tank commander. If Hawk is a colonel, any thoughts on what rank I should give Steeler? |

Thanks I'm going for a pretty small unit with 50-60 operators, and then support staff on top of that. Probably not the most realistic, trying to fit in the characters/figures I'm interested in.

Depending on the personnel Steeler would at least be a Major, although he may be better suited as the logistics officer S4, and separate out your HQs company entirely. Firewall would be your S2 (Capt or Maj) 50 or 60 is like an ODB company under a major. How does DOJ fit into your scheme? Bullet-Proof could be operations officer?

My take on Firewall is pretty much as the IDW comic, but I decided that she had been recruited by the CIA before joining the Joes, almost like a female Jack Ryan. For the Joes, her job is to run the intel team, liaise with other agencies and make sure that the right rules of engagement are clear on missions. I have her as reporting direct to Flagg, and the Jugglers, but maybe I should have her under Hawk instead. I went with a slight CIA spin as a way of having the joes doing deniable missions in certain countries. I see the team's role becoming more and more a clandestine war with Cobra. Bullet-Proof heads up a DOJ SWAT capability to find and deal with Cobra cells within the US. It would be BP's team who would be knocking down doors of a suspected Crimson Guard, rather than Duke and co. |

He was Special Forces in Vietnam so I’d say as a weapons sergeant he taught indigenous militia how to use a variety of weapons including heavy weapons, such as mortars, M2s, anti-armor guns, etc. As for his artillery MOS I like to think he spent some time as a fire support specialist or forward observer.
