For Class A's yes. I was kind of referring to the typical uniform worn on a daily basis. I don't think a Marine is going to want to wear BDU's in the multicam. His or her espirit de corps will be too strong so he or she would probably want to wear the USMC digicam in woodland or desert and anything else a Marine would wear to set themselves apart from the Army.

I would think in garrison while working at the Pit, or other undisclosed location, they would all wear their service working uniforms-multicam, marpat, NWU III, or ODUs. Then, operationally, they wear whatever they need. Gung Ho goes shirtless, Torpedo wears a wet suit, they all wear whatever camo or civilian clothes needed to blend in.

Also can anyone tell what the insignia above Airborne's (Talltree) sergeant stripes (although they are upside down) is? To me it looks like a U.S. Navy Parachutist Badge (much like what Duke has). |

Going back several pages, I was wondering if anyone had any insight into this? Would combat engineers employ anti-tank weapons as much as an Infantryman would? Zap is a Combat Engineer and is shown with anti-tank weapons so would Salvo be in the same boat?

From what I can tell that looks similar. I tried doing a Google search on that with one indicating "101st Airborne" and another "WW2" but neither site had any solid information.

That being said, maybe Zap is really a 0351/52 assaultman with the primary job of rockets and secondary job of breaching and explosives. and a thirdary job of fixed wing pilot. |

Oh, and Airborne's shoulder patch is strange. It looks to me like a USN PO1 shoulder patch, maybe some sort of aviation related rating like aviation boatswain's mate or aircraft survival equipment (or whatever their field is called). the chevrons pointing down and red really look like USN.

In the USMC, anti tank is the 0351/0352 MOS (I think it was either combined into one or one of the two was dropped recently) who also double as explosives and field breaching experts. Combat engineers 13XX MOS, would not "regularly" use anti tank weapons but all combat engineers "fight as infantry" as needed and in those cases would use stuff like an AT-4 or other general use anti tank weapons.
That being said, maybe Zap is really a 0351/52 assaultman with the primary job of rockets and secondary job of breaching and explosives. and a thirdary job of fixed wing pilot. I had stated a while back that I thought most of the original 13 should be Marines and not Army due to their 2-3 military specialties. With most of them listed as "Infantry" I would think they would have gone to the School of Infantry (since all Marines are trained as a Rifleman) and also their PMOS (CBRN for Flash, Engineer for Zap, etc). I think the ones who would fall more into that category are Zap, Flash, Grunt, and possibly Short-Fuze. Zap as an assaultman makes a hell of a lot of sense. Quote:
