The Activity is an Image comic written by Nathan Edmondson. It follows the adventures of a small team of operators who belong to an Operations Troop of the Intelligence Support Activity (aka Secret Army of North Virginia).
The first issue starts off with the first mission of a new recruit post selection. Having spent years in the 96th Civil Affairs Battalion she is recruited into the unit and into a team known as the Problem Solvers. Here's a nice review The Activity: A Comic Book with Realism, Espionage and Intrigue : ITS Tactical I sent you a PM with some "extra" info ;) |

Hi all,
I've been getting into 12" Joes the last few weeks. Having been a 3 3/4 purist, the 12" line has opened a whole new world. So many cool figures that I'd love to one day recreate in ME or even ARAH scale. Anyway, the reason I bring it up is that I've found some new canonical code names / characters we can all use. In 1999 and 2000, the 12' line had a subline called "The Adventures of GI Joe 2010". It focused on a small team of Mission Impossible type individual mission operators, There were 5 figures produced each year The blurb was Top Secret Document: The worldwide movement of international criminal and terrorist organizations is monitored by a classified defense satellite network system code named: Eagle Eye. Recently, Eagle Eye has detected an advance of several of the world’s largest hostile networks. Though its final objective is unknown, this new and dangerous enemy represents a serious menace to the world. In response to this threat, the United States military has formed a small, hard-hitting counter-insurgent team whose primary mission is to infiltrate these operations and hostile activities. Code named G.I. Joe, their authorized name is classified, and their existence is not officially recognized by the government. These individuals represent the most effective strike force in the world—the best of the best, trained to operate anywhere and at a moment’s notice. In 1999 the figures were 1. Operation Alpine Assault (Codename : Snow Tiger) 2. Operation Lion's Den (Codename : Red Stallion) 3. Operation Shadow Ops (Codename : Shadow Fox) 4. Operation Mako Shark (Codename : Mako - A Navy SEAL) 5. Operation Silent Strike (Codename : Silent Strike) An example of the mission blurbs is below.. Operation : Alpine Assault Status: The enemy has seized a secret research station located in the Austrian Alps. They have threatened to fire missiles into populated areas if their demands are not met. Mission: 1. Helicopter insertion into Austrian Alps—locate base. 2. Infiltrate enemy stronghold and prevent detonation of missiles. Your code name is Snow Tiger. Of course, if anything should happen to you, your existence will be denied. Good luck! In 2000, there were another 5 figures but information has been quite sparse. I wish I could find some 12" info sites. I collected most of this info thru eBay and Amazon listings. One day, I'll have the complete collection. Operation Climbing Claw (Codename : Climbing Claw) Operation Intruder Defense (Codename : Intruder Defense - An Astronaut) Operation Midnight Recon (??) Operation Sand Sting (codename : Sand Sting) Operation Swamp Attack (??) No pics, because they went straight into storage but here's pics and some interesting info from this site » Operation: Lion’s Den (1999 Adventures of GI Joe: 2010) |

That's a really interesting line. I recall seeing it on shelves when it was released, and was drawn to some of the crazy camo, as well as the similarities to the Adventure Team concept.
I've also covered other Adventures 2010 figures on the site: » Adventures of GI Joe 2010 The 12 inch Double Duty figures have also been a source of fascination. One of the cancelled Double Duty figs made it out as a JvC 12 incher. » Double Duty » Dusty (2002)

Those 1999 guys have decent codenames. the 2000 names need some work.

So while growing up I remember Steeler had a "mis-printed" paygrade of E-5. Either on one of his filecards, Order of Battle, the yearbook, the marvel comic books or the 1991 Impel trading cards. I was wondering if anyone else has the source material to prove it. Because my search so far hasnt produced any results.
