Yeah, he was from the end of the DDP run, the WW III storyline. Basically, The Plague had 13 members, like the Joes initially did. Most of them represented different branches of Cobra, and Bayonnet was the Snow Serpent. Others included a CG, an AVAC, a Laser Viper, a Night Creeper, a Range Viper, a SAW Viper, and a HISS driver (Munitia).

I'm sure there's a list out there somewhere, but I'll do my best from memory:
Guillotine-Eel, squad leader Gallows-Sand Viper, medic Grim Skull-SAW Viper Vector-Laser Viper Velocity-AVAC Vanguard-an Army Ranger duped into joining Cobra Infrared-CG Incision-Night Creeper Body Bags-Range Viper Bayonnet-Snow Serpent Blackout-Thomas Stall, Barrel Roll's brother Interrogator Munitia-HISS Driver That's all of them. IIRC, Cobra Commander created this squad to deal directly with the Joes while the rest of his troops were busy elsewhere. He was fomenting terrorism worldwide and then was able to sneak in and take over the US government. Vanguard was the brother of a soldier killed in the Battle of Mogadishu, who became disaffected with the US military. |

Yeah I always wondered why they didn't give Snow Serpent Commander an actual codename?

Range Vipers are organic to the long-range recon company led by Skull Buster (MAJ). I kept Bludd a major because he's one of the few original Cobras that had an actual rank. He always felt like a field officer that went out with the troops, plus he has an SAS background so I mirrored the EWT squadron commanders after SAS squadron majors, but in reality Cobra's squadrons are larger and should be led by Lieutenant Colonels.
However, I could incorporate the Skull Squad as an elite unit of saboteurs and place Bludd in his rightful place as their commander. Perhaps I'll just make them a troop-size unit that specializes in demolitions and IEDs. Do you use the Coil? What about Cobra CLAWS? Where do they fit in? So Croc Master and Big Boa are officers as well? I see them as First Sgt or Sgt Major material. Quote:
Have you placed your Cobra officers into HQs for specific combat units like armor, artillery, aviation, infantry, special forces, logistics, etc? If so, who's in charge of which units?
PS. I forgot to put Hotwire and Cesspool on the special staff. I haven't found places for all the Cobras yet because I don't have them organized anywhere near as well as the Joes. The Coills are Serpentor's version of Blue-Shirts but there are no where near as many. I plan on having the CLAWS under Iron-KLAW. But SKAR, RED SHADOWs and RED SKULL + Clan DESTRO (Destro&Baroness; Dr. Doom; Darklon, and Uncle Magneto) all fall under the Cobra Umbrella. Guys like Croc Master and Big Boa are officers based more on pay than anything. The Cobra Government is based on Military rank structure, but most of the named Cobras need to be rewarded.

I have it so the Skull Squad was originally a Red Skull asset. Then Red Skull hung them out to dry and replace Maj Bludd with the Taskmaster. THe original Skull Squad 6 all became named Cobra's themselves with the exception of Crossbones. But Big Boa; Skull-Buster; Urzor; Guillotine + one more but I can decide between a few guys like Croc Master; Gallows, Overkill; Grim Skull and Mercer. I might use them all.

I have this long backstory about the Coil being this secret organization (think illuminati) that has helped shape the world for a long time. Alot of the family names we know have been members of the Coil: McCullens, DeCobrays, Paolis, Vaughns (Wilder Vaughn from DDP's Red Shadows, who is now Baron Ironblood).

One of the reasons I made so many smaller terrorist groups was because of the top heaviness and redundancy in so many of Cobras troops.
With so many of these guys being power-hungry, I just couldn't see them working together very well and so they all split. My Cobra, and others, have no incompentency in the ranks. They won't allow infighting between the leaders.

DId you ever read the Fan Comic I think on BloodfortheBaron.com where they Had Wilder Vaughn as the Baron and The Black Major came back with Red Jackel who is actually Artur Kulik and a few other characters. Or was Vaughn actually the Black Major? I need to reread it.

But my Black Major is the other guy (not Kulik or Dela Eden), the one that was posing as one of the jugglers. Name begane with an H I think...
