The Canadian Forces don't have the equivalent of SEALs, as far as I know. That is, they don't have a formally composed unit of combat divers who specialise in direct action/special reconnaissance above all else. The Canadian Forces have combat divers (similar in function to the SEALs' World War II predecessors, the UDTs), but the job is an advanced specialisation for Army combat engineers.
Joint Task Force 2 (Canada's version of Delta Force, if you will) has Special Operations Coxswains though, the equivalent of US Navy SWCCs and since JTF2 draws from all the branches of the Forces, I'm sure there are combat diver-qualified combat engineers in JTF2 as well. |

That's what I was thinking. The code name has to go, though. I mean seriously, Beaver? What, was "Maple Syrup" taken? I'd rename him "Castor," which is French for "beaver" but can also be taken as a reference to the character from Greek mythology (and patron figure of sailors and sailing).

Beaver is an Action Force name, which is why I used it.
Do like the sound of Castor better, but Beaver does have the AF connection...

Maybe he's a hit with the ladies?
Trapper would be better, if they were trying to capture that pioneer, Survivalist aspect. |

Oh, I know. Just was never fond of them going with it originally (granted, I think the hilarious/sexual connotations of the word "beaver" were probably largely unknown at the time of the character's creation across the pond).

Well, at least you guys didn't go to a college whose mascot was the beaver. And with a 70% female population, no less.
