His 91 figure is a Sgt Major, way before the DDP comics. In the DDP Battlefiles Comic I pretty sure he is listed as a SGT Major as well. No real explanation. They sort of accept the fact he's a Sgt Major now as part of the team. He's also in the Special Missions Manhattan issue as well. I think he is also a team leader there as well. And isn't he also a team leader on the 2nd invasion of Cobra Island?

Yeah I'm curious as to what the decision was to sort of single him out and make him a main roster character? I think he even had a few episodes on the DIC cartoon series. One of which may be the worst of all time.

I can't remember but did Taurus or Red Dog get any comic time in Marvel or DDP?

I think at the end of WWWIII you saw Taurus on one panel. Not sure if all the renegades were stationed together at the end there. Not sure about Red Dog.

Yeah, not sure why he was pushed to be a mainline, but that group of 8 didn't last more then 3-4 issues.
In the Special Missions he wasn't in charge. I don't remember him leading a unit in Cobra Island either.

AFAIK, most military organizations still use Morse code to some extent (although it's no longer as pervasive as it was, say, half a century ago). Some contemporary signals, signals intelligence and aviation-affiliated jobs in the military require a working knowledge of Morse code, there's still a lot of radio-telegraph equipment in use in the real world battlespace. SF Commo sergeants probably have to have functional knowledge of Morse code as well (don't quote me on that, though).

Somewhat file card related speculation:
Was Skystriker (the 1988 Tiger Force pilot) supposed to be Ace but they changed his name for whatever reason? I just find it odd and coincidental that he would bear the same codename as Ace's original aircraft and that he would born in the same state (Rhode Island) as Ace. |
