Pretty cool. Can't wait to have two Joe stories going every month.

I'm assuming they're going to ignore DDP because the new series will start with #156, so unless they are going to only do stories that fit continuity wise between #155 and DDP #1, then they have to ignore DDP's stuff.
But that means Hama also has to ignore the Frontline stuff that Jurgens did.

Frontline had some good stories and others weren't so great, so I wouldn't mind seeing that left out either. Given that we already have alternate continuities with the new IDW GI Joe (and I think GI Joe Reloaded started it's own continuity as well) I don't mind keeping DDP as a separate thread.
I'd like to see Hama write a full flashback arc covering Stalker and SE's time in Nam like they tried to do with Declassified but with better attention to detail. And speaking of Declassified, I finally picked up the series cheap on ebay and you're right, the dialogue is trite and they screwed up a few things chronologically. But I believe that they did reveal SE's name. In the 2nd issue, I believe, the guy in the bar fight scene says they're going to have a "Bob -b-cue" with Snake Eyes, which points to Zulu's theory that SE is Bob Light. |

Cool
Kinda random...but cool. Must've hit submit reply from a few (hundred) pages back. I guess that's what happens when the thread notched over 1000 pages I'm glad you picked up Declassified TS. Some of it was okay, some was just dreadful, like the Dreadnoks and Snake Eyes. Scarlett was okay though. I've been meaning to ask, with your Carrier Group, will all the personnel be Joes? or just some of the command/pilots/seals/marines??? If you're planning to include attack subs, I think Tonka or someone did a Joe sub in the 90's called the 'Tiger Shark' I think it was 1/48 scale but looked cool as hell. I always wanted a joe scale sub..maybe a mini sub with a crew of 10 or so.. |

Not all DDP was bad. I think if you go back and read some of the Marvel stuff it's just as bad. especially the last 4 years. but I still even enjoyed the bad Marvel stuff since my love of GIJoe really stems from the Toys. What I liked about DDP was how they included as many characters as they could. Sure sometimes I was left scratching my head as to where some characters went but they attempted to keep the stories together.
I think they could easily run a story for the between years. The main problem with doing that is the Marvel line ended so terribly. The last few comics leading up to the end went no where, and where and why Cobra just disappeared was never explained. |

yeah, I remember in the DDP run they scaled the team back to 12 members including Mercer and Grand Slam then the story kinda ended abruptly and they moved straight into another arc.
I did like some of their storylines, WWIII and Red Shadows was cool if a little rushed. |
