I remember that guy. We used to get all sorts of weird reprints in my hometown's store (Spain-sourced 2000AD comics, the odd Australian GI Joe comic book, Action Force collections, Philippine reprints of X-Men and Spider-Man). I always just assumed he was the Aussie version of Recondo since I'd never seen Recondo in any of the Australian Joe comics.
I have a second vintage Recondo which one day I'll get around to customizing to make it a little distinct from regular Recondo. He'll be Digger. I've been thinking of a few Aust/NZ/Pacific Islander guys to make as a Joe equivalent. Mostly tasked with the local Dreadnoks. Biker gangs are a HUGE problem over here so it's very topical at the moment. I'm just stuck on a name to call them. They won't be as big as the Joes or even Action Force. Maybe Oktober Guard size. Has anyone seen these? Puzzle Animation 1/18 4"PLA:440A Bunk Bed:China PA003H - eBay GI Joe, Military Adventure, Action Figures, Toys Hobbies. Oliver, I know what you man about other threads. If it wasn't for the filecards, Zulu's and now Troy and Darth Henning's I wouldn't bother logging on. I was hoping all the negativity on this site would have petered out by now but not so. I also hate being told that my opinions count for less because I don't live in the continental US. I gave up posting on a few threads because of this.
Someone told you your opinions don't matter because you don't live in the continental U.S.? That's ridiculous. I mean, there are even Americans who don't live in the "continental U.S." - ALASKA & HAWAII !!! To be honest, I learn a LOT from the International members of the TANK. I have basically no knowledge of G.I. Joe outside the U.S. And it's helpful to learn how Joe stuff worked in other places. I'm just sorry this happened to you, my friend. I'm angry and embarrassed. As an American, I'm very sorry that some of my fellow citizens have acted this way. I can tell you that I value your insights and opinions very much. And there are a lot of Tankers from the "continental U.S." that I couldn't care less about what they think.

I've always been a bit enamored by Australia. I've never been, but I always thought it had so much in common with America. I would love to go someday. And so Skymate always interested me. He was a cool character and his glider was really great. Both Big Ben and Skymate are too well qualified for me not to use them. They're awesome characters. The only drawbacks for me was their uniforms. I was never crazy about Big Ben's hat or Skymate's pink hat. So I'm just glad that Marine Deadpool is making me some custom versions.

Bah - I was coughing so hard I could barely speak. (Still haven't kicked that cold, btw - came back in force last night after going into remission) Next time hopefully I'll be healthy.

Oliver, I wanted to thank you. I've taken your Ghost Squad and tweaked it for my joe army. I'm going to use the name Ghost Squad as one of my sabre squadrons.
it'll be lead by Ghost Rider and will be the sneak and peek and intel people. It'll also be the 'funny squad' like in Delta where they have one 'funny platoon', so named because it's the only time the DOD uses female operators. One thing about the "Funny Platoon" - Delta does NOT use female operators. And Eric Haney never said they did. I don't know where that rumor got started. However, the Intelligence Support Activity (AKA Centre Spike, Gray Fox, The Secret Army of Northern Virginia, etc.) does use female operatives. This is the DoD's Tier One Special Ops unit specifically for Intel - Humint and Signal Intel. The ISA is the Intel counterpart to Delta and DevGru. They use female operators all the time. The ISA is a small unit. Delta is estimated to be between 600-900 operators, and the ISA is somewhere around 250 Operators. A lot of what they do is planting electronic devices and listening - but they also have operators who are cross trained by Delta Force for Direct Action Missions.

That's why i love coming to this thread, it's a great place to bounce ideas off others and I like to think we all learn a little bit from each other. I've actually saved a ton of stuff to a word document from all the insights you, Zulu, Troynos, Tanksmasher, Loose Cannon, Fogger, Lister, Rocky, Darkhawk75, Mike Voltz, Topside and everyone else has provided. I particularly gained a TON of insight from what you've explained about PSYOPs, women in combat, the role of Chaplains and some of the training you've done. I had no idea that Chaplains would go into combat zones with the troops. Going into a warzone with just a knife and one's faith and beliefs is pretty damn brave. |

Hey Man, I'm sorry you're still sick. I hope you get better soon. Going to work when you're sick is the pits. When you get better and feel up to it, we'll go get lunch sometime. I'm looking forward to it.
