Buddy Christ! Hehe, nice to see another collector with one.
At 3 3/4" I don't know how well they will be able to portray the actors face. But to honest, even if they can, I don't think it will stop me from buying any and all the figures I can. It's still G.I.JOE to me. |

I wouldn't buy anything with Ben Afleck on it, Gijoe movie or not! He sucks! In all honesty I DONT believe I would buy any movie figures bearing the actors. I dont know why but I have never liked that. I actually bought a few Lord of the Rings figures before the movie came out and then I lost interest in buying the new ones because I really didnt care much for some of the actors . Generic is best with action figures.

i dunno, Christian Bale worked fine on batman begins toys. cant say the same for superman returns though. to me he just looks like some kid who won a contest on Mtv to be the next superman. or maybe Christopher Reeve was just that damn good.
but yeah at 3 3/4 scale, i think it wont be very noticable. i mean, look at recent luke figures. Mark Hamill? nope. just a face.

To be honest, to ne personally, I don't give a flying fiddler's elbow who's head is on the movie figures, as long as they are 3.75. I can always swap heads out, and speaking as a customiser, new heads are always welcome. That is why I love peopel like JFAK and Good To Go. The choice is no longer limited to Flint or Duke for generic looks.
Let's face it, hands up all those who are going to buy two 25th Stalkers because there are two different colour schemes, or all of the Shipwreck variants? So what is the difference between that and a different look on the movie figures. Please illuminate me on this. Seen it so often with the Star Wars community and I still don't understand it. |

STAR WARS films weren't an adaptation of something else, though, so they're a little different. Other than twenty or so carded figures when Revenge Of The Sith was released, though, the only STAR WARS items I've purchased in the last three years have been in the Genndy Tartakovsky Clone Wars animated style. |

the question i posed came to me after countless trips to target and walmart and only seeing snake-eyes and stormshadow. it would be worse to walk down the toy-aisle and see a card with matt damon smirking at me as a peg-warmer, after burning $4-5 a gallon gas on the hunt. i shudder. i cannot believe there is actually a ben affleck action figure, god help us.

LOL, yes please do not illuminate! Why the hands up to variant collectors? They are goddamn obsessive compulsive freaks who Hasbro knows can alter one tiny thing and resell it to the same person a million times over. (okay not a million)
Actually it really is just personal preference. Its that simple. So if you like having an action figure with an actor's face then you will probably love the movie figs. I wont because I cannot stand to see a recognizable face with an action figure that I have watched in a movie countless times. p.s. When I heard a rumor that Ben Affleck and Matt Damon were going to be Spock and Kirk in the new Trek movie I nearly vomited. |

AVAC, need i remind you of the AFFLACK daredevil figures?
and speaking of mr. damon, thanks to team america, the only way i can sy his name now is how they said it on that movie. "MATT DAYMUNN!" however he kicked all sorts of arse in the bourne movies, and was great in The Departed. but anywho, pretty sure we arent getting any big-timers to play the role of the joes. so we should be safe. "SHOULD BE". cross your fingers.
