Out of the entire mythos, which character (based on job/file card/rare appearances) do you think has the most potential and could develop into a top-tier character if done right?
For me, it's easily Mercer Has a decent look, DDP did some more with him, but he had the most untapped potential. Military trained, Cobra trained. Privy to the inner workings. He's an ex-Viper. He's been in and he got out. Why? Why'd he leave? What made him go in the first place, and why is he working with the Joes now? What convinced the Joes that he wasn't a double agent? How does he feel about taking down people (Vipers) that used to be friends? He knows Cobra tactics, weapons, training. He knows how Cobra recruits. He knows codes and base locations. The stories that could be generated from him alone... DDP mined a little of it, but not enough. I would love to see more of him.

One of my favorites, and very underused. Same with others of my favorites: Spearhead and Big Ben.

I always wanted to see more from Mercer and the Renegades.

I have no basis for this other than he was a childhood favorite, but I felt like Crazy Legs could use more love.

Crazylegs, Hit & Run and Airborne could have been better used. I really like the backstory that could be told for these guys.

I know I'll be stoned here but I'm going to say Ninja Force.
They may have not been "underused", perhaps "misused" is a better word. It's clear that it's either love or hate with these brightly colored silent soldiers--so my cure? With the exception of a cameo here or there? Take them out of the comic/main story in it's entirety and give a "spin-off" that is based entirely off of the Arashikage Clan. It's clear the Ninja stuff goes into overdrive at some points, and it's too much for many Joe fans. It's also clear that having Ninjas fight silent wars in remote locations while the Joe team is doing their part on field is pretty believable.....it just needs to be kept to itself a bit more. |

Oh also Scoop--like Mercer he's an ex-enemy. Knows the ins and outs...and with terrorists so hot on making videos nowadays, an A.V. guy with military training on both sides of the fence isn't too bad of an idea.
