I was wondering how many people liked the fact that the 80’s cartoon and as far as I know the comic books showed the toy vehicles so much that it was basically a long commercial? Yes, it may have been blatant advertizing but I for one loved it…… And I still do. I liked seeing the toy I owed up there on TV doing awesome and spectacular things. When I watch the cartoon with my 4 year old son now a days just about every time a vehicle shows up on the screen he yells “hey! We have that!”. So I know he gets a kick out of seeing them. I truly believe that the toys wouldn’t have been as special if they weren’t on the cartoon or in the comic books.
I am afraid the new cartoon and/or comic books will not feature the original GI Joe/Cobra toys. I think if that’s the case it will take away from the cartoon or comic. What do you all think? |

I think today's kids are more video game orientated. So regardless whether the new cartoon and/or comic books features the original GI Joe/Cobra toys or not, I strongly feel the interest of bringing in new Joes fans futile.

I think (although perhaps not to the level of the '80s) vehicles will be featured at least from time to time on the cartoon, in the comic books. No matter what they call it, these are still mediums of advertising merchandise. Without the popularity of the merchandise, there is no Joe. I don't think there is any way of getting away from that. I would expect to see a fair amount of the vehicles we have seen released already and an occasional cameo from other equipment we've seen in the past (or modern versions of it). Joes and Cobra still need to get around, and vehicles are the modern means of transportation for any/all modern military forces, not to mention the need for artillery, air support and naval power. We've already seen the Resolute version of the USS Flagg, the ultimate Joe vehicle...
