The Modern Hiss has a lot of automation in it, so that only a two-man crew is necessary.
The Driver is the Commander and controlls the front MGs and the hydraulic systems and can also controll the firing of the rear guns The gunner a subordinate almost co-pilot position. |

I agree with the auto-load concept, what bothers me about that is wouldn't that limit the HISS to only being able to employ one ammo type at a time effectively.

I love the old HISS and the brown, black and the red HISS as well. But the new movie line HISS is growing on me cause it actually has a turrent that a gunner can go in like the old style HISS tanks. Unlike like the POC and the Crimson HISS tanks the gunner is tucked up under the rear of the tank manning the guns remotely. I see it like how Han and Luke man the guns on the Falcon in Starwars.

the gunner is the commander and the weapons dont require loading they are energy based.

Are they energy based? That was my next question!
Anyone ever see what a 90mm round can do?! And the HISS Tank has 2 of them!

for me...every hiss is built upon a "redundancy principle" meaning...the driver can take control of the turret in the event of the gunner being abscent, shot, or if CC/baroness/destro/etc are riding in the "high seat"
further...anyone sitting in the driver seat can drive from that position as well the turret is controlled by an advanced targeting system that allows for a "point and shoot" method of operation. This allows nearly anyone (blue shirt, cobra commander, the "FNG") to climb into the gunner seat and be proficient in the operation of the turret the specialized training is required for the driver seat, so for me, the driver gets a special uniform, and is only operated by hiss drivers/officers or those that have cross trained as such the HISS II requires a crew of 3 a "driver" (sitting 2nd seat) a "TC" sitting first seat and a gunner...in this version the turret is able to be controlled from the TC seat...however the tank is not capable of being driven from the turret. the v5 hiss or "stealth hiss" in my verse requires one operator to both fire and drive...the rear hatch is for wounded, weapons stores, or a BAT/lone operative. the movie hiss in my verse is going to be known as the "command hiss" and will require a crew of two all of these hiss coexist rather than act as replacements or upgrades |

*EDIT: - I agree, my HISS Tanks are not energy based either!
I REALLY enjoy how well thought out some of your ideas go. THIS is why I come to the Tank! There are some on here that say "They're just toys! Who cares about all that tech spec crap?!" But that's where the GOOD stuff comes from! How many types of HISS figures are there? I know a HISS Tank Driver (red), HISS Tank Commander (blue)... were there any more?!

I concur. This is one of the things I really enjoy about this site. It's very remniscent of the GI Joe "debates" my friends and I had when we were kids. For example, My Friend - "My guy is wearing a bullet proof vest under his uniform." Me - "I know! That's why my guy is firing armor piercing rounds..." Of course now-a-days, the logic is greater and more in-depth (although not necessarily more "sound")...I'd also be more willing to concede loss these days...I suppose I'm so much more mature now... BWAAA-HAHAHAHAHA!!! |
