Marvel version for me. For both the creation and the death story.

I never cared for the character of Serpentor in general. But he was way better in the comics than on the cartoon.

I like how in Sunbow Cobra Commander spoiled the procedure by ruining some of the DNA and Mindbender overcame that obstacle by using Slaughter's DNA as a replacement. That was classic.

Didn't Larry Hama hate the whole Serpentor idea from the beginning? Think I remember him saying that in an interview...if that's the case, he still did a good job working him into the comic.

Marvel.
Hama didn't like the idea of Serpentor, but came up with a nice bit of science fiction(as opposed to the cartoon's science fantasy) and made him into one of the best characters while he lasted. |

Make mine Marvel
I think the idea of Serpentor is a bit cartoony, but they made it work better in the marvel run as opposed to Sunbow. But I am biased, grew up with the comics and saw the show when I was grown up. |

I loved the DDP series as well. Really enjoyed it all the way through. Felt it was a great update, while still keeping the fun feel of GI Joe.
