Basically how many levels of Joe-geek are there?
You got the ultra's that know everything about every character from every comic book and cartoon episode thus covering both canons. They have every/most figure from 1982 to the present complete loose and MOC. They've got some sort of Joe/Cobra tat and wear the t-shirts as well. The go out of their way to get all the super rare international stuff...they go to all the cons etc and etc Then there's the more casual collector that only buys the 2 or 3 figurs per wave that he actually likes. He got back into Joe when 25th came out and he never really got into the comics. He had Joes when he was a kid and remembers the cartoon series fondly. He's excited about the new movie and saw ROC as well. AND THEN there is everything in between. So again, my question how many levels of Joe-geek are there? Could you be less than a casual collector and still be considered a GI Joe fan?

That second paragraph is painful. I feel like I'm being stereotyped or something...
I think you've got to include the military nerds in there as well. For instance, guys/gals that say things like, "It's impossible to fire an M2 from the hip." (I fall into this category as well...) |

I'm kind of #1... Got the toons, all the comics, cobra tat On the shoulder, t-shirts, a damn near complete collection of ARAH figures & vehicles (no Street Fighter figures and still working on getting some of the later year items)...
I don't have everything memorized (especially the DIC series or the later comics) and I don't have every figure MOC (just a few). I do have every modern era figure, and I kinda enjoyed ROC... Just barely though. I think I'm a uber-geek |

I don't have every figure (or even most). No tattoos. One shirt. I have a bunch of rare stuff, prototypes and international. I don't go to the Cons unless it's nearby.

I have a Cobra-La display built out of bugs and creatures from other toy lines, like the Avatar Leonopteryx, the Uruk-Hai birth pods from "Lord of the Rings", MOTU Classics King Hsss's snake torso and the Star Wars Episode I Opee...
I think this trumps everything else. I am the Khal of Khals... ;)
