I would have loved to see some toys from this movie. They could have used a lot of the Modern GI Joe molds too. I would have purchased them. Who doesn't need more filler Joes. My Flagg needs more Navy members.

an action figure line for this movie doesn't really make much sense from that strategy. they want kids to see this movie, get excited about it and buy the board game. not buy action figures and ignore the board game. now, even though it makes sense for Hasbro to not make action figures for this movie, what doesn't make sense is to make a movie that clearly would make sense as an action figure product, and kids may actually expect action figures from it. this is a confused movie and I think is going to actually confuse the market when all is said and done. little Timmy is gonna race to the store to buy some kick ass toys and find out all there is to relive the movie is some board game. not even a video game. |

that way, you leverage the consumer perception of G.I. Joe as an action figure line with the Battleship characters from the movie without altering the primary Battleship brand which is a board game since its figures are only a sub-branding. that could have been a fantastic opportunity that would have gotten kids to buy G.I. Joes via Battleship. except with Retaliation coming out at the same time that would confuse the G.I. Joe market which needs to be 100% focused on only being G.I. Joe Retaliation this summer. funny how even when a no-brainer opportunity is there Hasbro seems to miss out. |

Really wish they would release Joe scaled toys from this movie. The alien saw machines would make great modern Buzz Boars, the aliens would looks great in Joe scale, and a Joe scale Battleship would be awesome.

At least, I assume once the Retaliation stuff wears down, Hasbro will risk making Joe Kre-Os and expand the brand a little. Oh, and I'd totally take a Joe-scale Rihanna. ANY new female Joes would be awesome, even if they aren't technically Joes. |

funny thing is that it could have been a brilliant sub-branding opportunity, creating a Battleship sub brand for action figures under the G.I. Joe brand, not much different than the Street Fighter figures in the 90's.

After watching this trailer, this is as close as we're gonna get to see a Buzz Boar, B.A.T.s and Wraith on the big screen.
